Another Code Recollection Review – Nintendo Switch

Another Code Recollection reviewed on Nintendo Switch (OLED) – It’s been my mystery game era at What’s Good during this never-ending January of 2024. If anything, the last time I played so many detective games was on my DS back when Ace Attorney and Professor Layton were the best thing since Pokémon. Two games I never got to, that actually turned into the so-called cult classics of the genre Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Trace Memory (or maybe you know it as Another Code). Another Code was remastered in this collection, and then also bundled in is the Wii game, A Journey into Lost Memories – its of ..read more

Coral Island is SUPER Cosy – Review
What's Good » Adventure Games
by Kelly Stretch

I love a cosy game. It’s like a guilty pleasure I’m not overly quiet about. Life is already so full of everyday expectations that finding a game that lets you really relax into it is a great thing. This time around I had the chance to play the 1.0 release of Coral Island. I was initially intrigued by the game because of the theme of ocean conservation. We have literally hundreds of farming sims to choose from, so the best cosy games these days have to have a little something more to them than crops, romance and farm animals. I think Coral Island delivers here, along with the usual cleaning up ..read more

Fae Farm Review – Nintendo Switch, PC

If you’ve been like me and missing (and looking) for something to fill that Animal Crossing void that filled most of my pandemic, Fae Farm might be for you. Fae Farm is the latest cosy farming sim game in a slew of releases trying to hold up to the likes of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. In my opinion, it sort of tries to make its own path in the genre, and by doing so, it passes and fails on a few bits along the way. The overall art, style, score, and feel of the game is nothing short of dreamy and cosy after a long day at work, and the quality of life improvements it has over other game ..read more

Venba is one of the best cosy games I have spent time with this year, and even better, I sat down and experienced it all in one sitting. Reviewed on Steam | Available on: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows It follows the lives of an Indian couple who leave their home and move to Canada, in hopes of a better future. They find it hard to adjust, to find work, and friends, with language, culture and even religion being blockers in a much more Western world. The couple are thinking of going back home to India, but the woman falls pregnant, and a ..read more

Video: There’s a Horny Anime Demon in my Detective Game – Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Review – Nintendo Switch
What's Good » Adventure Games
by Nick de Bruyne
10M ago
Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE is a unique blend of murder mystery solving and a surprising dash of demonic kinkiness. Set within the perpetually rain-soaked city of Kanai Ward, you play as Yuma, an aspiring detective suffering with a suspicious case of amnesia. What sets this game apart is your little ghost demon assistant, Shinigami. Shinigami not only aids you in solving murders, but as it turns out, they also occasionally morph into a drop-dead gorgeous, overly jiggly, often aroused and also menacingly dark and sexually minded anime demon girl waifu thing. For someone not entirely fa ..read more

Tinkertown Review – PC / Steam Deck
What's Good » Adventure Games

There are few types of games I don’t enjoy playing, and I do have a soft spot for the art people create with pixels. However, (and don’t come for me) I never could get into Stardew Valley, or any of the other games that really made farming (like actual crops) a part of the day-to-day (see Farm Together, Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons), but let me build villages and economies, and I am a happy gamer. Tinkertown is an interesting one. I tested it on both my PC and Steam Deck and it ran like magic on both, so you can be at the comfort of your desk or pick it up on the go. You start with nothing ..read more

Stasis Bone Totem Review – Scary Good (In-Progress)

Stasis Bone Totem is the all new point and click sci-fi horror from The Brotherhood Games. I’m mainly a console gamer these days, but there are a few studios and games that make me dust off and fire up ol’ reliable the moment they become available. This is most definitely the case when it comes to anything that comes from The Brotherhood Games, a South African-based studio responsible for Stasis and Beautiful Desolation. The original Stasis was clearly a love letter to a childhood filled with sci-fi, horror, and sci-fi horror—with an all-new setting and story set in space that had its dimly li ..read more

Mail Time Review – A Cozy Forest Adventure

Mail Time is a charming indie adventure game set in a forest teeming with lots of those cute forest animals. You play as a Mail Scout, fresh on the job, tasked with delivering letters and packages to the formerly mentioned cute forest animals that live there. The game is easy to pick up and play, with simple platforming mechanics and some really well chosen, relaxing music. The visuals are also beautiful, it all fits in with that cottage-core forest-y theme. You meet tons of unique characters with their own special personalities that somehow make their way into your heart as you progress thro ..read more

Hogwarts Legacy Review – Positively Charmed (PS5 and Xbox Series X)

Title: Hogwarts Legacy | Reviewed on PS5 and Xbox Series X | Reviewed by Kelly Stretch | Edited by Nick de Bruyne Hogwarts Legacy has done what no other franchise game adaption has managed – it’s brought the magic. I have loved Harry Potter since I first got my hands on the books many years ago, even attending midnight book releases as the rest of the series was released, and I got my first detention for being found reading Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix under my desk in Maths class. In other words, this franchise, the world, its lore and its characters are near ..read more
