That's right, turkey camp. We head out tomorrow afternoon for a few days. Driving about four hours east. No idea if we are going to see any birds but it sure will be fun trying. Bringing the ARs as well just in case we want to hunt coyote in the evening. The new wall tent will finally get used. Got a bunch of firewood today from the national forest so we can stay nice and warm. Can't wait ..read more

This year I will try hunting from a ground blind. I am looking for a folding chair and also does any one use a bipod or tripod
for a shooting rest ? I am wondering what is better, the tripod or bipod. I guess they both have advantages, but thinking the bipod would be
easier to move about for different shooting positions ..read more

Animal Cruelty Fueling Push to Ban Fur Sales
Massachusetts would become the first state on the East Coast to outlaw the sale of fur products, under legislation introduced Wednesday. Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis (D-Framingham) and Sen. John Velis (D-Westfield) are sponsoring the bills (SD 1029 and HD 1592), which have the backing of the Humane Society of the United States. The bill's supporters cite cruel, unregulated animal killing methods in the fur industry. "Massachusetts is a world...

I wonder if the outcome would have been different if these two had some defensive weapons on them. Surely it would have been. Even here in NE (and everywhere else for that matter) I pack heat while deep in the forest ..read more

Does anyone know the reasons the Rourke Ramp in Lowell doesn't open until Memorial Day? And that seems to be if they feel like. It's just a matter of opening the gate no? Early May is good fishing.
Many times I would just go over to the ramp in Chelmsford on Wotton St but I am hearing that boats with trailers have been kicked out of using that ramp?
Thanks ..read more

Getting pumped for spring bear. Me and the son in law are planning to go in about four to five miles into the mountains and sleep in the tipi tent using the titanium stove to stay warm. Could care less if I see a bear. Just looking forward to the challenge with mother nature and my body. I think I may set up the tent though in the yard this weekend to test out the new system. Want to make sure I won't die.
Anyone else doing spring bear ..read more
