It’s Friday night in the Mission. It’s a clear, dark Friday evening in mid-October with the usual stuff that you would encounter in this neighborhood at night. There are lots of people walking through Mission Street, hitting up the various bars and clubs bumping until early morning. Many are waiting outside different venues to either be let in or take a break from the indoor excitement. Yes, it has been a while since I’ve written anything for the blog. What’s been happening on my end? Well, last week I was performing as a comedian for three nights at the Mutiny Radio Comedy Festival. Overall ..read more

So, it’s a Friday night in the Mission. I’ve surprised myself that I’m working on this blog again. This has been another week that gave me a swift kick in the ass and I was expecting there to be a lack of motivation to work on this blog. The weather is good for now, but it’s quickly turning to shit. The fog is coming in quick, which I’d prefer to happen in the evening instead of the middle of the fucking day. People are out to get their weekend started. I’m on Valencia Street between 18th and 17th and it’s another night of people in their 20s and 30s partying it up, despite the oncoming cold ..read more

Saturday afternoon in August near the Panhandle. It’s actually sunny. Not a single piece of overcast is visible in the bright, blue sky. People are taking leisurely walks. I’m not sure why but I’m noticing a lot of French tourists these days. And it’s surprisingly warm. It’s not warm enough that I don’t need to bring a jacket, but warm nonetheless. Yes, I know I didn’t post last week. Get over it, you’re consuming free content. Why am I here in the Panhandle? I don’t have a particular reason why. I needed a slight change of scenery and this part of town seemed to be a quaint idea. This week ha ..read more

Apologies for my absence for the past two weeks. It’s something I haven’t done before and it’s something that I don’t want to do again. There are only so many hours in a day and life gets in the way of the blog. There was much going on in my life, and I needed to deprioritize the blog, but I’m back. I’m staying in the Mission this Friday evening. It’s cold and cloudy, unlike the rest of the country where it has been fiery and hellish. San Francisco has been a haven for the heat and I feel some people are eating their words for saying shit about this city. Do I miss consistently warm weather? S ..read more

It’s a Saturday afternoon in the Missions. It’s June and the fog is running through the blue skies before covering the neighborhood, so I might as well enjoy the available sunshine before it’s too late. Apologies for not posting last week. It’s been busy on my end and it’s been hard keeping track of everything. The world continues to be engulfed in figurative fire. I’m working on taking it easy. Despite the chaos, the Mission and the rest of the city continue on, but now with a bit more rage. The main reason that I wasn’t working on the blog is I got a cat. Yes, an animal lives in my apartment ..read more

Wow. What a shit day today in the US. It’s Friday in the Financial District So, Roe v. Wade was overturned this morning by the Supreme Court. I feel like shit primarily because of this and I’m not even a woman. I can only imagine what it feels like for many people right now. As a nation, are we seriously fucked? We’re fucked, right? That dread drapes over the top half of my eyes as it covers every recess of my brain. Yes, I’m lucky that I live in California where we have reproductive rights, but if you’re in a red state you are seriously fucked. The scary part is it begs the question, “What’s ..read more

It’s a sunny Friday evening and pretty fucking warm outside. The air is fairly still. The weather could be considered pleasant in the Tenderloin. I’m out in this neighborhood for a friend’s birthday. If you know anything about this part of the city, there are lots of drug-induced homeless people walking around and hanging out in this area, many of them barely functioning for one reason or another. Yeah, it’s not pleasant to see or be around. After all of these years, not a whole lot has improved in the TL and it’s fucking sad. It’s a reminder that not a whole lot of people give a shit about th ..read more

Tuesday evening. I know, it’s odd for me to work on the blog at the beginning of the week. The sun is setting on a clear day. The weather is a bit pleasant. It’s quite beautiful outside. I’m staying in the Mission tonight, this time on the side on the edge of Potrero Hill. I’m out here with my girlfriend tonight and we’re out here to hang out with friends afterward. Not a whole lot has happened since a few days ago I worked on the blog. California is still in a drought. It looks like monkeypox is starting to be a thing of concern. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is still happening. Yeah, not a ..read more

It’s a Saturday afternoon in Chinatown. It’s Memorial Day weekend and many of my friends are out of town, including my girlfriend. The friends that are in the area are indisposed for the long weekend, so I suspect I won’t be seeing anyone for the next few days. The weather today is shit. Lots of overcast blowing through. You see glimpses of sunshine here and there, but I doubt that’s going to last. It’s been a while since I’ve been in this part of the city. Lots of people are out trying to enjoy their day. Many kids are playing at a nearby park. A few tourists are doing a bit of sightseeing on ..read more

So, it’s the Lower Haight this time. It’s a Friday early evening in the second half of May. Sunny, yet still cold and windy. That’s a typical San Francisco for you and I should learn better by now. Luckily, I did bring a thick jacket for tonight. It’s still a quiet neighborhood. The occasional MUNI bus passes through both Haight Street and Fillmore Street. Not that many cars come through the area, which keeps this neighborhood low-key. People are out on the sidewalks heading to a nearby restaurant or bar. I’m only going to be hanging out here for a short bit. I have another destination tonight ..read more
