All of the beautiful images in this blog were taken by the talented Sean Elliott Photography. Sophie and Ross were married in a beautiful autumnal ceremony at Woodhill Hall in Otterburn Northumberland. The colors of the flowers were a stunning warm mix of rust, copper, ivory, toffee with earthy tones and light apricot. The flower types were roses, orchids, chrysanthemum, stocks, echinacea and eucalyptus. The ceremony took place in the churchyard of the nearby village church. The bride wore a long, flowing gown with a delicate lace overlay. Ross wore a very smart black tux. The bridesmaids ..read more

Laura and Michael were married on a beautiful day at Halton Grove, a new wedding venue in Northumberland, and they were one of the first couples to do so! The couple chose a white and green color scheme with touches of delicate pink, and the result was a stunningly elegant and romantic wedding. Expertly captured on camera by Sarah Jane Ethan Photography. The ceremony took place in the gardens of Halton Grove, overlooking the Northumbrian countryside. What a view they had! And that coupled with the natural wisteria and roses growing up the side of the building, created a truly magical setting ..read more

I still can't get over this wedding. Danielle and Mark were perfect clients and let me create beautiful flowers for them. Jesmond Dene House in Newcastle is only about 5 minutes from my workshop too. So for many reasons, it was an amazing day!! They opted for a really relaxed but classic and elegant mix of white flowers and greenery. The floral arch at the entrance, the long trailing 'modern take on Princess Diana' bridal bouquet, the blend of tall and table height centrepieces, the full length top table arrangement. Everything just worked so well! Photography by the amazing Helen Russell Venu ..read more

As a creative person, I get a genuine buzz out of, well....a lot of things, but photoshoots are my chance to play and have fun! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love working with my couples and sprinkling a bit of Floral Quarter magic on their weddings, but now and again it's great to exercise my creative muscles and do something just because it gives me that buzz! Now and again, I get an idea in my head, a vision, and I just can't rest until its out of my head and caught on camera. So I like to pull together a team of suppliers that I know will execute this vision perfectly! I've been in Flor ..read more

No matter how long you've been in business (almost 10 years for me!), you need to keep your skills up to date and keep that love of your craft going. So at the back end of 2019, I decided to do just that and book myself onto a 4 day long flower course with Leafy Couture down in Leeds. I'm so glad I did. When you work on your own, you miss being able to bounce ideas off other people and see how others do things, plus fashions and trends change. So I decided it was a good invest in myself and my business to go on this course. I had an absolutely lovely week. I booked myself a fabulous little Air ..read more

I'm a wedding Florist....and there are no weddings! So what do I do? Well as any self employed person will tell you; there's always something to be getting on with! Blogging like this for example. I've been doing weekly bouquet deliveries which have been popular, and they give me my flowery fix! But this week, I bought a few extra things in, all for me, so I could just have fun playing! No recipe, no plan, no agenda, just good creative fun! I decided to make something big and impressive; an Urn display! To show you the sort of thing you could have standing at the front of your ceremony or at t ..read more

but the ceremony is only 20 minutes, why spend money on decorating it?? Well as you can see from the images below, it's very much worth while having your wedding ceremony decorated with flowers, candles and more. I work with all of my clients to figure out fresh flower decor that suits both their tastes and the venue that they are marrying in. Whether it be a barn ceremony such as Doxford Barns or Healey Barn in Northumberland or a stately home/hotel such as Capheaton Hall or Matfen Hall, or anything inbetween, I will listen to you, work with you and together we will come up with the perfec ..read more

Well, here we are in week 6 of lockdown (at the time of writing this post). It's the strangest feeling, like it's been only 5 minutes since this all started, yet a lifetime ago at the same time. I remember back in March, when I was preparing for my March and April weddings, when all this covid19 news hit us and everyone started to get scared and postpone weddings (understandably!). But I have to say, I wasn't worried. Do you know why that is? It's because I always book the loveliest Brides and Grooms who love me and what I do, so I knew that whatever this situation threw at us, that they'd be ..read more
