Reaching out from the depths of the Paris underground, the mysterious French quartet BLVL don their glittered masks and reach toward the prospect of international attention with the release of their debut full-length album Martha. Over these ten tracks, BLVL intertwine surreal emotional synths with vocals that reach melodic highs and gloomy lows to create a finished product that is dynamic and upbeat while also hitting moments that are more solemn and gothic. Their blend of electronic, indie-tinged post-rock is at times familiar and at other times strikingly individual, cherry-picking elements ..read more

VOLKOR X, the anonymous, ominous post-synthwave artist is no stranger to writing prolific, expansive albums, but with the upcoming album The Loop set to hit release platforms (and merch stores, hint hint) worldwide, we might just be about to hear their most accomplished yet. In previous releases the concept has been well established in that VOLKOR X himself, the masked antagonist, is dead set on conquering earth. This latest venture acts as a prequel, flicking back the pages of history and unveiling the beginning of the story, as he claims his first victim.
The story is largely told through in ..read more

Chino Moreno is no stranger to twilight-tinged songs with a seductive edge; the influential Lost In Vegas often react to DEFTONES’ music and wax lyrical about their sinister sexiness. On ††† (CROSSES)‘s second full-length, Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete., that vibe is amplified tenfold by replacing the downtuned guitars from his regular gig with heart-pounding electronics courtesy of FAR‘s Shaun Lopez. In an album full of hooks, a breathy “take me…higher” refrain stands out as encapsulating the euphoria, desire, and longing that Moreno’s voice has expressed for decades.
The record ..read more
