Need shifter for weird setup

I have this chopper that I got from a guy, and want to change a bunch of stuff on it. One of those being the pegs, because the shift lever is worn and clunky, and I had to reposition the shift lever peg because my foot barely reaches it. I've been looking for a replacement, but can't find one that'll mount up, or if I do, I'm not 100% sure. The shifter that the bike has is worn, clunky, and seems kind of unstable. Any help? Hey all. I recently purchased a chopper from a friend, and I'm trying to track down information about it. I was told it was a 1980s FXR frame and an 80 evo engine, but the numbers aren't adding up. VIN: 4B7H846984S000586 Engine: DLK751496 The bike cranks, but won't start. It gets fuel to the carb, has compression, has spark through the plugs, and has a tested good battery. I'm trying to track down a manual for the frame so I can start going through the wiring, but can't find a VIN... Need help identifying chopper VIN/Engine ..read more

Hi everyone, new to this forum. So I’m resurrecting a 97 fat tire chopper. It has a 5-speed and a EVO off of a 99 softail. My problem is the 5 transmission studs. They aren’t long enough for me to put a nut on the bottom. I believe they are 7/16 course thread to 3/8 fine thread. They are thru holes into the transmission. How are people solving this problem? I haven’t been able to find longer studs. Thanks for any help ..read more

Hello Forum, I have a Harley Softail with custom wheels. There are no markings on the wheels. Anyway, I started doing a chain drive conversion and ran into a problem the rear hub has a center hole of 2.5". The only sprockets I can find are 2.25" diameter. Has Harley used a 2.5" diameter hub center flange? Thank you in advance ..read more

Now he is 72, first he bought an 09 Electra-Glide, I thought it was much too heavy for him and he laid it down at a few stop lights. I put my foot down and convinced him... 2023 Road Glide CVO.... Hi all I have a 2004 American IronHorse Stalker that I recently replaced battery cables and battery. Now when I try and connect battery the shifter linkage gets super hot really quick and starts smoking. Not sure what's going on, fuses checked out good, not sure how to check relays with my ohm meter but now there is no power at all when I try and turn key on while tapping negative cable to battery. Any ideas? I can't find anything on the net about problems like this. Thanks in advance... 04 American IronHorse shifter linkage hot and smoking when connecting battery cables ..read more

Hello, can't seem to find the info I'm needing. I want to adjust my primary belt and having a problem. My bike is a 73 shovelhead with 3" Bdl primary belt. And a 5 speed trans. I broke lose the 5 trans bolt and tried prying the trans back and didn't seem like it wanted to move at all. Am I missing something. I don't see how the trans could move back. The inner primary case is one piece that bolts to the engine and to the trans so how could you slide the trans away from the motor to snug up...
