Preface: We are USA based and plan on mostly exploring North America. We are not new to adventure or traveling.
Well.. it's happened.. I'm down the rabbit hole of building a Fuso (or similar).
I'm capable of building things, maintaining things and general mechanics.
My wife and I have outgrown our space in our Alaskan Camper and are considering a new build. We currently run around in a short wheel base 2006 Quad Ram truck. With an 8' Alaskan Camper on a custom flat bed. We love it...

I'm saddened to hear that EC is closing shop. One snippet from their annoucement email:
"Despite EarthCruiser's many successes, changing market dynamics and economic challenges have made it increasingly difficult to sustain operations going forward. Currently in NZ and have been getting about in my parent's Rosa motorhome. It's a 1997 with the 3.9l engine, and is for all intents and purposes a Canter chassis and engine.
The tachometer randomly cuts on and off, possibly when going over bumps so there could be a dodgy connection somewhere.

So I got to build a camper for my 2000 FG53EC Mitsubishi Canter it is 4x4 quad cab Japanese ex fire truck with 20k km.
Currently I deleted all the fire equipment and left with subframe where this equipment was sitting and not sure what is my next move. At the end I want it to become an adventure mobile for the family of 4.
Right now I'm looking at the frame and it looks very short, I know that some people extend the frame on these, but for me it sounds very expensive. My idea is to...

Hey folks,
Newbie here who is about to be finishing a build on an Isuzu/GMC t7500. I already have winches and was wondering where to look and what y'all would recommend to have in my recovery kit beyond shovel and chainsaw.
Are any recovery boards, tree savers, ropes, pulleys, shackles, straps or any other ideas rated for 25,000 lbs?
Thanks for any advice ..read more
