When I originally read your post, I fixated that it happens at idle, just like mine, but after re-reading it, I see it was only just off idle. Today while working on the truck, I experienced the same cough and sputter just off idle. I was in the middle of other things, and could not work on that, but as soon I get done on this issue, I'll see if I can reproduce it. I'll let you know what I find. Did this cause your previous issues in this topic? Most of my issues have been resolved, but not all.Today I checked the timing, worked on getting it to idle in open loop. But the choke issue needed to be dealt with before I could complete it.I figured out why the carb does not choke or completely un-choke. It was two problems, a backwards spring, and a part the had seized up, which I'll describe in the right place when I'm done. Right now I'm waiting for the pop rivets to reattach the electric choke. But one thing at a time. Was there one thing in particular you wanted to know more about ..read more

Looks nice! Good job. I would focus some attention on the heater core. Those are notorious for developing leaks. In the event your does leak, the floor in all it's glory will get wet with coolant. New heater cores are very hard to find, and pricy. Thank you! Yes I'll recheck it, it was very dirty and clogged up, but I'll probably disassemble the interior again after we finish the mechanics. I also think that the "heating switch" of that heater core is not working anymore. I'm also afraid of the oil cooler, because it can start mixing coolant with oil. I'll probably buy a vacuum tester an ..read more

Figured it out. I needed to undo the nut that holds the high low hub and sleeve and managed to get it out today. IMG_20240502_181830.jpg Strange, this might be a different case or something was not mounted correctly, because the manual doesn't say that the high low sleeve is on that assembly. As I previously said, our first endeavour was to rebuild the interior. It was stupid to do it first, ofc, but we didn't know that this would escalate to a full-rebuild. Well, that't how it goes... The interior was awful, I even found some cockroach in the ashtray : 21.jpg When I found this I decided that the correct thing to do was to remove everything and freshen the interior up, also because at this time I'd already found some rusted out areas that I needed to fix, like theese: 11.jpg 12.jpg This was an adventure for me, since I only have a stick welder (LOL) and I'm not a very experienced ..read more

Will #1 & #2 dog collet move in the direction of the arrow? Move #1 first than #2. If the shafts, gears or bearings are binding nothing will come apart easily. Everything must be loose & "floating" to dissemble. Sometimes you have no choice but to use force. The shaft has threads in the butt end of it. This is to connect a slide hammer.
