My friend is helping me replace my front brake pads right now. My rear rotors look pretty rough, just from looking at them through the wheel. My friend says the rear brakes are more complicated to work on than the front. Has anyone done this repair, or know how the rear brake and rotor is assembled ..read more

someone stole the ecm from my 2001 rodeo dlx. At the wrecking yard they told me that an ecm with code pcm32u is interchangeable with my model of rodeo. The problem is that 1) the sockets arent the same, 2)the rodeo dlx has an ecm that bolts onto the intake manifold but what they say is interchangeable bolts on to a bracket on the fender wall and the ecm that they want to sell me has pins for some 160 wires but my rodeo only has some 50 wires. Are they correct or completely out of their minds ..read more

Hey! I've heard nothing but good things about this site over the years, and I figure it's probably time I join.
My history with Isuzu is limited to the later model Troopers (my family has had 4 or 5) but is as long as my own life. I was brought home from the hospital in an (at the time) 1 year old '02 Silver on Silver base model. That was just the family car when I was a kid, and when it came time for a newer car, Silver was given to my woodsman Grandfather for service in northern...

I was changing out the rear differential fluid but when removing the bolts to remove the rear cover (Dana 44 Rear with 10 bolt pattern) I noticed that some of the bolts were shorter than others. I look inside the threads and see some bolts have broken off inside the differential housing itself. Unfortunately, they don't stick out far enough for me to use a vice grip to grab onto them and back out. How do I get the bolts out? A couple broke off at the top of the diff, making it very difficult...

My 1991 isuzu trooper's cooling fan is dry rotted and im worried that it could explode at any moment and destroy my radiator along with it. I have been trying to find a replacemnt urgently but can't seem to find one. I was wondering if the 4cyl fan like the one in the image attached would work or if anyone has recommendations of where I could get one.
Thank you ..read more

Hi all,
Just getting into the forum; apologies in advance if I leave out anything important.
I just bought a 1989 Trooper with the 2.6; it was driven regularly by the previous owner until the head gasket went. Still ran on 2 cylinders, enough to get it on the trailer. I pulled the head and found the gasket was burned through between #2 & 3, looked like all pictures I've seen from others on here. Cleaned everything up, got some dried gunk out of the cooling ports, replaced the gasket...

I want to upgrade the hydraulic brake and clutch lines on my 1999 Rodeo 3.2 4wd with 4 wheel brake discs to braided stainless steel lines. I've done this a lot on some of my past cars but I am having a problem finding a set that are decent and not cost a bunch of clams per corner. I've checked the archives but the posted sourcing didn't yield anything.
My goal is to just upgrade the system somewhat but I don't need them like previous applications for track use. Also, these are 25 years old...
