Abstract
Although the value of climate science in the courtroom is widely acknowledged, few studies have evaluated how judges achieve a scientifically sound grounding for their rulings. Drawing insights from legal culture and science and technology studies, we compare the determination of scientific credibility in leading climate cases in Europe and the United States. Judges on both sides of the Atlantic answer similar questions about scientific facts and commonly use authoritative reports and testimonies from qualified experts. However, while judges in the Netherlands, France and Germany find ..read more

Abstract
Climate change has caused significant hardship in sub-Saharan Africa. As a result, Kenya and Nigeria now have statutes that focus on climate change mitigation and adaptation. Behavioural instruments can reduce the information ..read more

Despite this, agricultural policies have consistently supported on-farm intensification, specialisation, enlargement, and mechanisation of agricultural production. These policies have been in turn commonly justified through food security and agricultural efficiency arguments. Considering the European Union's Farm to Fork Strategy and the Green Deal's aims of ..read more

Abstract
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is working on the adoption of a greenhouse gas (GHG) pricing instrument to decarbonise international shipping. This article analyses whether World Trade Organization (WTO) law can limit the implementation of an IMO GHG pricing instrument. In particular, it breaks new ground by analysing the compatibility of current proposals tabled at the IMO with the General Agreement on Trade in Services and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. In addition, it analyses whether WTO law limits the IMO's ability to adopt a GHG pricing instrument that ..read more

Abstract
This article discusses how law shapes sustainable finance market creation in the European Union (EU). Although markets for environmental, social and governance (ESG) oriented investments have continued to grow, a gap has persisted between fund popularity and real-world impact. The EU has sought to address this through common legal standards for sustainable economic activities. However, there has been limited empirical examination of how industry applies these new measures and how they facilitate further market development. The article seeks to address this by proposing a research agen ..read more
