The Australia men’s national team have defeated the Iceland men’s national team 3–2 in their fourth game of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament in Belgrade, Serbia. Australia’s goals were scored by Ethan Hawes, Kieren Webster, and Jamie Woodman with Hawes’s being his first at the senior World Championship level. The Australia men’s national team have lost 4–5 following a shootout to the Israeli men’s national team in their third game of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament in Belgrade, Serbia. Australia’s goals were scored by Strat Allen, Mackenzie Caruana, Cameron Todd, and Kieren Webster with Allen’s being his first at the World Championship level. The Sydney Ice Dogs have re-signed goaltender Connor Dowell for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season. Dowell is currently playing for the Reach Rebels in the 2024 East Coast Super League season where he has recorded a 0.814 save percentage and one shutout from three games. Dowell served as a backup in three games for the Ice Dogs during 2023 with all three backing up Jakob Doornbos. Eaden spent 2023 playing for the Canterbury Red Devils in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League (NZIHL) where he scored 13 goals and eight assists from 13 games.
