As the X-Men '97 cartoon continues to get better with each episode, we move further into the Marvel Legends Wave 2 collection. This time around we're going to look at Madeline Pryor, The Goblin Queen and the swashbuckling teleporter, Kurt Wagner, The Nightcrawler! In spite of the shortcomings, we've experienced in both waves so far, I have to admit that I'm fairly impressed with what Hasbro has done with this series of figures. I'm trying something new with the format, in terms of the grading. Read on to see what changes have been made. The Goblin Queen, also known as Madelyne Pryor, made ..read more

Let's Discuss: Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro Collection: Jack O'Lantern Action Figure

The reviews have been coming fast and furious lately! This is a good thing, though because there has been a lot of great stuff hitting the stores! I was pretty stoked when this figure was announced. I never had the older version, and the character is just, really too cool looking to NOT have on the Spidey shelf. My familiarity with the character is based on the stories in which Jason Macendale Jr. wore the costume. I was very surprised to learn that there have been a number of villains using the Jack O'Lantern identity. Credit goes to Marvel Fandom for the biographical information followi ..read more

Let's Revisit: Mezco One:12 Collective Previews Exclusive: Cyclops Action Figure

Time to drop another Retro Review. Even though this figure has been out for quite some time, I only recently bought it and thought... MAN!!! I need to write about this!!! Cyclops has always been one of my favorite characters and though I really prefer the Jim Lee costume design, his old school X-Men threads have a dear place in my heart. I've been reluctant to purchase too many Mezco figures, only out of concern of damaging the cloth goods, but careful handling and mindfulness will go a long way in keeping the figure in good standing. Charles Xavier's first student, Scott Summers mutant po ..read more

Hey all, thanks for checking out our review on Hasbro Marvel Legends: Marvel's Angel Action Figure. I happened upon this in a GameStop and saved a few bucks by cancelling my BBTS order and grabbing it right then. I don't always have the best of luck finding figures in the wild in my area, so this was a very pleasant surprise. Warren Worthington III is a millionaire playboy as well as a mutant gifted with wings that allow him to soar into the skies as the high-flying Angel of the first class of X-Men. Parallel to his angelic persona, Worthington also operates as the death machine named Arch ..read more

Let's Discuss: Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro VHS Series: Daredevil Action Figure

As you know, I missed out on the Daredevil three pack with Bullseye and Elektra. I was very disappointed because D.D. is on the new body mold and I was so impressed with what I saw in reviews. Therefore, it was a no brainer when Hasbro announced this Daredevil in the VHS Retro style two pack. Even though he comes with Hydro-Man, I didn't care. While many don't care for the cel shading, I actually really like it, particularly on this figure. There are some great surprises in the shading as well, which I'll talk about shortly. Matt Murdock grew up in the Hell's Kitchen section of NYC. His fathe ..read more

Let's Discuss: Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro VHS Series: Hydro-Man

Welcome to Dan's ToyBox! Today we're breaking out the Hydro-Man figure from the Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro Series VHS Two Pack! Like pretty much everyone else, I was kind of surprised by the choice of package partners, given that Hydro-Man and Daredevil never faced each other in the Spider-Man Animated series. Of course, the truth is, most everybody wants Daredevil, so why not "two pack" him, slap a higher price on it and force people to get a figure they really don't want with it. A funny thing happened though... while this isn't the greatest offering ever from Hasbro, I find mys ..read more

Let's Discuss: The Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Series #80 Ralph "Nunchuk" Badducci Action Figure

Was out on a date day with Mrs. ToyBox and came across this at a GameStop. I was actually surprised because they had 6 copies of Ralph on the peg. This is the first time I've stumbled across him in the wild. So, naturally, I had to add Ralph "Nunchuk" Badducci to the collection! U.S. Army Sergeant Ralph Baducci was born in Brooklyn, New York, and eventually made his way to Denver, where he was trained in the martial arts with the Blind Master. He later moved to San Francisco and enrolled in the Arashikage Martial Arts Academy. He caught the eye of Storm Shadow, who then continued the training ..read more
