Saw has run okay for a few years but dies if idling too long and becomes more temperamental as hours of work go by. About a week ago it quit and absolutely wouldn't start back up. I replaced the spark plug due to wear/multi meter showing it had failed; no luck. I just finished replacing the carb, fuel filter, air filter, and two fuel lines (the inside of the lines separated and came apart during disassembly). Still can't get it to start at all. Even sprayed some WD 40 into combustion chamber and after they did nothing, did the same into the carb (with filter removed). I inspected the old carb ..read more

This weekend's fun

2 days running the saw this weekend in NW WA State. Saturday helping some friends put in a fence around 4ish acres for their Great Danes to run. Plenty of cutting tips into posts and clearing the tree limbs and brush back from the fence line. Sunday building a new mountain bike trail in some STEEP terrain. Had a couple tipped-out cedars to handle so we can get the corridor thru and use the material for bridges. First time working a saw on such steep terrain, really satisfying to slowly puzzle out the disassembly of a pair of cedars - one 20" at the stump and one 14" at the stump. Back to the ..read more

Husqvarna 455 20” bar “bogging” when halfway through 18” rounds

New 93 eth free fuel and brand name oil, sharpened chain (Gransberg electric), filed rakers, new spark plug, air and fuel filter. Just feels like the saw is missing some power. Cutting oak, but getting fairly small chips. Bar isn’t getting stuck, but feels “snug”, and perhaps is pulling slightly to the right? Bar doesn’t look crooked. My brother mentioned not being impressed with the saw, but it seems this gets good reviews? Going through all bar oil per fuel fill up. Going to check the spark arrestor. What else could be the problem? submitted by /u/shmobodia [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Echo CS-400 help

I just bought an echo CS-400 for $40, it came with the 18” inch bar and works great. I have these much smaller logs (5”-8” in diameter) that I want to cut bowl blanks out of and the 18” bar seems a bit over-kill. Any way I could fit a 10” or 12” bar on a CS-400? submitted by /u/Any_Aardvark_1190 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Sprocket help?

Hey guys. I had to have some trees cut down for starlink some time ago(around November). I’ve got about 3 that are in a far area in my yard and I keep getting my bar sprocket seizing up. I keep seeing hard nose is better for dirty wood. Is it correct to assume this would apply to green wood? I assumed the wood would be somewhat dry at this point, but I’ve had hell trying to split some compared to seasoned. What are the pros v cons with hard nose to sprocket? It looks like power is a factor, but also saw hard nose cut even quicker than sprocket on a YT video. submitted by /u/marinesafety92 [v ..read more

I inherited my grandpas husqvarna 350, and was bogging down at full throttle. I went to replace the fuel filter, and noticed it was gone. Am I done for, or can I still fix this? Right now I’m thinking I have to replace the fuel line and clean the carb, but I’m new to this so I’m not sure. submitted by /u/Suspiciousfx [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey all. I ordered a few components for a rebuild i am doing on my Husky 562xp. I’ve ordered multiple things from their company before with no issues but now im stuck with a saw that’s been disassembled in a box for almost 2 months now. Is anyone else dealing with this from them? How is their refund policy? I called and asked about the delay and they claimed it’s Huskys problem but my coworker also is dealing with delays for his parts for his tools as well. Wtf? submitted by /u/Tight_Appearance_596 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
