Looking for suggestions on used pro grade, or at least commercial (non-homeowner) top handle saws
I have Stihl & Echo dealers and would prefer to stick with them.
Not looking for brand warfare.
Anyone have actual model they have used a lot and really like?
Price is important here. I can’t spend $800 on new. Would like to find something under $400 ..read more

I didn't know where to ask this question so I just chose this forum. Is it possible to hook up a battery jump pack to a trickle charger? I don't use the two that I have very often and that means that when I have to use one it usually is not fully charged. So my question is can you attach the trickle charger to the two alligator clamps of the battery pack to keep it charged ..read more

I went to sharpen the chain on my Stihl ms261cm after it got dull( probably hit some dirt while bucking up a maple). Only the teeth pointing one way had ragged cutting edges, while the ones pointing the other way were just a little dull, but undamaged. What could hsve caused this?
It's a Stihl semi chisel 3/8 chain on a 20" lightweight bar ..read more

Since you are the poulan expert. I just picked up this Poulan Pro 655 with the Boost Port. The guy I bought it from did not think it was a boost port model, but I sent the pictures to a friend and he confirmed the BP. Anyways...I have some questions for you.
I need to know if the Echo fuel line fits Polan stuff, or does Poulan use a funky size? I guess this will also let me know if I need a small ID fuel filter or the larger ID fuel filter found on Stihls.
What mount...

I have a slight chainsaw addiction because I cut a LOT of wood... I only buy pro saws and tend to stick to Husqvarna and Stihl but have a few Echos, too. I recently picked up the Echo 2511T and it has became my absolute favorite saw to run. It is so small and light it feels like a toy but it's a little speed demon that will eat through anything you throw at it. Being so small, it's very easy to pack around everywhere with you. If you need a small and light saw, I highly recommend...

I have a Stihl MS 261CM, set up with 3/8 chain and lightweight bar, which I generally like. However, a cold start usually takes about 9 pulls, sometimes 12 when the weather is cold (Western Washington, so only in the 30s or 40s). After it's warmed up, 2 or 3 pulls to start, 1 pull if it's still pretty hot. I have replaced the fuel solenoid, and run the reset sequence. I use non-alcohol fuel with stabilizer added. I am at about 600 feet altitude.
Is there any way to make cold starts easier...

What are people running as their gas/oil mixture ratio in small two stroke engines?
When I was a kid back in the 1970's I used to mow a lot of neighborhood lawns. My dad bought me a Lawn Boy commercial mower. It was a 22" push mower with steel, ball bearing wheels and a cast aluminum deck. One gallon gas tank. Industrial two stroke engine. No frills, just built to last. We used 20:1 gas:motor oil. Some guys mixed 18:1. I mowed a lot of lawns with that thing and never had a problem. My dad...

Followed suggestion in previous post and ordered D starter handle and received this am. Replaced cord and was oh so careful about not letting starter spring unwind. Ran new cord up thru D handle and knotted. Second pull and knot pulled thru new handle. Fortunately did not unwind spring. Rethreaded with a small washer in handle (cord hole in handle is large)to not let knot slip back thru handle. Saw hadn’t been started in at least 2 years with same old gas. Sucker started on second...
