I've drilled out those worn threads. Sadly, I couldn't find any UNC/UNF helicoil thread inserts, so I had to go for millimeters. But anyway, two M6 screws are now steadily mounted where the old loose screws sat. Mission accomplished. Will see if I can provide pictures today. Naturally learning as I'm going along, as this was the first thread repair I've ever done. Was a little cumbersome, but hopefully it'll turn out good when running it. I remember it was around this time when I asked Magnus if he had a good ignition unit for Partner C6 in his parts box. Specifically April 02 of this Spring. I thought what I did for this coil was a total failure. At this moment, I did not know after a couple of weeks the things will start somewhat, very subtle improvement. When this secondary coil was done, with 18,700 turns of winding, it was April 01 of this Spring. , But after assembly this unit did not make any sparks at all , , On April 01 to April 05, I gave it several times of checks with oscilloscope. Below is one of these oscillo images. , Checked this ignition unit that comprises of two coils, or the primary and the secondary coil, with 2 channel oscilloscope detection. Channel 1 : White wave is from primary coil, Channel 2 : Green wave from secondary. Please note that the probes on channel 1 and channel 2 are not the same. We need to read the vo ..read more

Wonderful collection and nicely displayed! I have chains for Malls and small Titans, always looking to trade. I have a lot of saws here to trade but without an idea of what someone wants it is tough to get a trade going. Statistics: Posted by BillG — Jul 21st, '24, 20:49 ..read more

I'm truly saddened to hear about Ken. His wit and humor were like no other. A man of learning, always willing to share his knowledge and help out. He will certainly be missed. I haven't solved the riddle of what to do with scores of old chainsaws, but please let me know if I can be of any help. Statistics: Posted by saw hoarder — Jul 21st, '24, 20:20 ..read more

I did not realize Poulan/Wright made saws for Dolmar. I knew Dolmar made the Poulan 6000 which I have. I also have the saw pictured as a Allis Chalmers 65. Statistics: Posted by BillG — Jul 21st, '24, 20:14 ..read more

Hi, I'm writing on behalf of my friend who doesn't know English language but he's collecting ancient chainsaws , he has over 400 units mostly Stihl. He's interested in buying american chainsaws or trading them with european's chainsaws. He's also trying to get chains for Titan 40, Mall 2MG, It's probably 9/16 (?) It would be nice to know what saws you are looking for. Statistics: Posted by BillG — Jul 21st, '24, 19:41 ..read more
