The 2023/24 Youth Artistic Instigators present THIS IS OUR HOUSE
America is a crumbling house. As the elements and human upheavals batter the house’s structure, we cannot declare our work is over.
THIS IS OUR HOUSE is a brave look inside our American house and the youth that struggle to find a place of safety and belonging inside it. What happens the day after the tempest? Will we fix our house/city/country/world? Will we take care of its inhabitants? Collectively imagined and written by the Youth Artistic Instigators, this devised piece of theatre is performed by an energetic youth ensemble i ..read more

Our question to the NYTW staff this month was in honor of February as Black History Month. We asked the staff: What are your favorite Black-owned businesses?
Patricia: On our block – Alex Harsley (photographer) and Esenshel Hat Store by Rodney Patterson
Claire: Bed Vyne Wine!
Daniel: Uptown Veg in Harlem is a Black-owned vegan restaurant specializing in Caribbean food. The flavors are immaculate and the comfort the food brings can only be compared to a warm hug.
Megan: Cafe Moca. Also, EatOkra.com is a great resource to find Black-owned restaurants nationwide!

Playwright and performer Mona Pirnot and director Lucas Hnath sit down for a wide ranging conversation with Michael Paulson at The New York Times to discuss how sound plays a role in I Love You So Much I Could Die.
“I like the relentlessness that I can get with [the computer’s] voice that’s kind of shocking and surprising, and I find it to be at times very moving but at times extremely anxiety provoking,” Pirnot said. “This actually feels like I’m capturing and sharing a little bit of what this felt like.”

“To overly describe Merry Me would give away too many spoilers. “It’s an incredibly queered up cocktail of a play about a group of people stationed on an army base and the sexual shenanigans that they get into,” I like to leave it at that,” says Silverman.”
