Hi there,
as its now winter here in germany i wanted to start a project which i had in mind for quite a while now.
I recently got a Garmin 8416 with gt56 transducer for my little boat for wrecksearch.
So I thougt could I build myself a towfish for a gt56 transducer?
I have seen that some of you in this forum already build themself a towfish.
So i wanted to ask for any tips or maybe even plans if someone would be sharing his.
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Andreas

I have 4 trident rovs but 2 of them have been damaged. We use them for Diver safety reasons. One went into a large running pump and was shaved on the bow. Another one got sucked through a hydro turbine. I like them because of their thin size. They can fit in small pipes and between tight beams. I have the parts from them but the bodies are damaged. I would buy used or new if I could? Online they have new packages (amazon), but I don’t need controllers. Thanks for your help.

I’m hoping to gain some insight into a problem I’m having using multiple Tridents in one location. I do marine education outreach programs and we would like to have two Tridents set up at one table to show the live feeds on two monitors. I have attempted this and I believe that both wifi topside units are using the same frequency to transmit the live feed. Only one of the Tridents will connect fully (showing the 3 green lights) and show the live feed. The Trident that will not connect shows only 2 green lights. If I have the Tridents setup about 150 feet apart along the dock I do not experienc ..read more

Hi all,
We are a company that conduct inspections in both potable water and raw water assets in the UK & Ireland. We are currently running a fleet of two Video Ray Pro 4’s, One BlueROV2 with the OTPS Topside Powered Tether Kit, and one Battery Powered BlueROV2.
We are looking to upgrade the two video rays - possibly to a Video Ray Pro 5. However, I was wondering if the forum knew of any alternatives for non-battery, tethered ROV’s currently available?
Many Thanks,
Steve Lee,
Panton Mcleod

I was able to get it to connect to an Ipad I have, it shows firmware 1.4.1 (719eb7). None of the controls work and I get an error that it should be firmware 1.8.14 (I think) but no where does it allow me to perform a firmware update. Is there a way to update it so it will do something?

The “OpenROV” link on the top left of every page leads to https://openrov.com, which has a 404 error page.
I tried to put a screenshot of the error, but my account is limited to one picture per post.
There is no content. Maybe the link should lead to main page of the forum instead?

I’m planning to build something similar to the original openrov but using Ardusub and a Pixhawk flight control paired with a raspberry pi.
I’ve got most of the parts I need except for a good watertight enclosure. Blue Robotics makes some sweet enclosures but they cost several hundred dollars and I just can’t justify that.
How does the enclosure work on the original openrov? Looks like a cast acrylic tube and some sort of end caps with a oring seal? Any insight or pics would be helpful.

Hey All,
I realise that the support has dried up but I got a trident from my Dad who supported the kickstarter and never charged the unit. I installed the gen2 motor kit that was in the box and connected to charge the unit. The LED on the charger goes red for a moment, the headlights blink on then go off and the light goes green. I see no lights when connecting the topside unit. I can see 12.6v across two of the pins on the charge cable, but only see 0.2v if I probe the matching pins on the trident. Because there is no real detailed pinouts of the teather I am really just probing and guessing ..read more
