Happy New Year and a blanket design to go along with it. :). I am sharing the Designaknit .stp and a .bmp (Wincrea) of my own hand drawn pattern design. I knit my blanket with a Passap E6000 knitting machine, but this pattern can be knit on any electronic machine with 200 needles. On the Passap, I used 2/24 yarn (double strand of each color). On Passap E6000 use tech 186 for extra wide large throw or tech 187 for smaller lap size. After the cast on (#3), I put both end needles on the front bed for tech 186. Needles 88-0-88. 176 stitches. 1000 lock passes. (250 pattern rows on Wincrea). When t ..read more

Simple Marl Baby Blanket

I bought the book, “Making Marls,” by Cecelia Campochiaro when it was first released in 2020. I have knit several items using the marl technique. While this technique is not new, I found the book to be inspiring and full of ideas. The marl technique is a great way to use up odd ends of cone yarn. Though the book goes in depth explaining different marls and complex sequences, the basic concept is to use multiple strands of yarns/colors at a time to blend colors. My blanket pattern is knit with 2/24 yarn doubled. Color 1 stays the same throughout (in eyelet #1). Color 2 is the blending color an ..read more

The “BABY” blanket is the blanket I knit the most for shower gifts. It is simple and you can either chose a color( basic pink, blue, yellow) or use a color to match the nursery decor. It is a simple hand drawn/written text I imported into DAK via Graphic Designer. I am sharing this pattern which can be knit on Passap E6000 or any double bed electronic knitting machine with 200 needles (and ribber). This blanket is knit in double bed jacquard. I knit my Baby blanket on the Passap E6000 double bed. I have knit it with tech 179 on Passap E6000 knitting machine with 2 strands of 2/24 yarn (double ..read more

Paso Fino Cardigan

My cardigan was machine knit on Passap knitting machine with double bed technique 186. I used some stash yarn (2/30 grey and 2/24 blue doubled). I designed the pattern in Designaknit Standard Garment Designer. It is a basic round neck, straight sleeve cardigan with oversize fit in size 34. I did add length to the sleeves and bodice. The cardigan band is knit in 1×1 rib. It is the type band that after cast on, you transfer some of the stitches on each edge to opposite beds. (3 stitches on left of front bed transfer to back bed, and 1st stitch of right on back bed transfer to front bed). This a ..read more

Useful Tool Storage for Machine Knitting

It is nice to be organized and have everything you need for knitting next to your machine. My favorite tool storage containers are my 3D printed tool basket ,which fits on the Passap E6000 tension mast, and the Harbor Freight magnetic tray, which sticks to the side of a metal knitting table. Read on to see photos and links. The 3D printed tool holder basket clips onto the E6000 tension mast (photo above). The tool basket has a solid bottom with a divider which helps keep tools upright and organized. The openwork design makes it easy to see what is inside. To mount the tool holder, simply slid ..read more

I have had a few people ask for a blanket pattern for a boy so I thought I would share this pattern file here. The shared file is blank (it does not have Wyatt on the bottom) but there is plenty of room to add text on the bottom border. The graphic I used for this pattern was from the Freepik website. Many of the Freepik graphics are free for personal use as long as you link back to the website. So this pattern is for personal use. I knit my blanket in double bed jacquard on Passap E6000 knitting machine but it could be knit on any electronic machine with 200 needles. 176 stitches double bed ..read more

I am sharing a simple 3 color blanket design. The Designaknit and Wincrea files are for your personal use. This blanket can be knit on any double bed electronic knitting machine with 200 needles. This is a small blanket good for a baby blanket size. A fine yarn like one strand of 2/24 of each color works well for 3 color jacquard. Knit a few swatches with your yarns to see what you like. The blanket is 176 stitches and 144 pattern rows (which is 864 lock passes). I knit my blanket on a Passap E6000 with Designaknit and used T199. The blanket turned out very nice. The red strawberries did not p ..read more

If you have an E6000 and want to create and download your own stitch patterns to your console, there are currently 2 free programs that will do exactly that. Journal 6 is open source free software for the Passap E6000. The software will download your designs to the console and much more. Journal 6 is available to download from Github here. The software developer also has a Passap card reader technique calculator on her website here. There are also some other resources on the PassapPal website. Wincrea is much more basic compared to Journal 6. It is just a color chart/graph where you can make a ..read more

I have knit several Sunshine blankets for clients. It is a favorite for all ages even TEENS!! Since it is cold and wintery here, I think any sunshine would be nice!! I have listed the digital download pattern on my shop. The patterns includes a detailed pdf file of instructions, Wincrea .bmp, and Designaknit .stp files. The included pdf instructions are for Passap T186 (throw size) but it would also knit up very nice as a lap/twin size in T187, and also even a smaller size T183 baby size–(just use one strand 2/24 of each color to get the baby size). This blanket will also knit on any electron ..read more
