Looks like a serious bug in Fabric OS 9.x with Brocade G610 (aka IBM SAN24B-6, HPE SN3600B, etc.) where switch fails to boot after power down, requiring hardware replacement. Fixed in v9.1.1c

We currently are using EMC Connectrix: Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition (CMCNE) and are looking to move to SANnav but it is very expressive.
What other software is out there and what would you all recommend we look at or avoid?
Thank you

This could be a stupid question to some but looking to replace an hdd cluster for cold storage with fa//c from pure (asking for a friend). What are the benefits here? You can do faster data reduction but any ballpark how much? Data sitting on disks is all images/videos so its bulky.

This idea stemmed from a few different cases I have seen at work. My low level knowledge of storage configurations I think is very poor. If I am glossing over any basic understandins please bear with me.
There is a storage appliance we use called tintris. These things are pure magic atleast from my perspective. You almost never have any latency problems and from what I have been able to find it uses vSphere's storage API. The unique configuration with the trintri is all of them are NFS. Changes have started at my company for sometime amd the trintris over the last few years are being phased o ..read more

So I was transferring files from PC to android (manga images that I downloaded - 12gb). I zipped it with WinRAR (no compression) to make it faster to transfer. Zipping it with WinRAR took less than 2 minutes. However unzipping it on my phone (S23 ultra with ufs 4.0) took like 30 minutes.
My laptop ssd I installed myself is only rated at 3500 MB/s. Upon google search for ufs 4.0 can reach 5800 MB/s. This doesn't really fall inline with my experience. Is WinRAR on android very inefficient or is extracting more intensive than compressing. Anyone have any ideas?

When trying to get to system settings/bios/F2 it gets stuck with 99 in bottom right corner and it never loads. It will boot off a usb or sata (via selecting boot device/f11), it will load and run system tests, but wont let me into settings. Both nodes do the same. I took cmos and battery pack out of both nodes, removed power, powered on (same situation), removed power and let sit for a week to drain any caps...and still same situation. The usb idrac must be disabled cause it doesn't show up in device manager much less start installing any drivers.

Hopefully, this post gets the visibility and response that I am looking for...I have some suspicions of my own and am mainly looking to confirm/deny them. That said...here goes:
Simple version
I am having a hard time finding specific information on what happens when an iSCSI LUN is disconnected from one server and reconnected to another. Does the entire volume get read when you flip the disk online? I suspect so, but would love to have some confirmation and maybe even some reference on how long I should expect it to take. At the very least, I am hoping someone here can shed a bit of light on ..read more
