Hey everyone, it's that time of year again! Our 4th free community swap meet. Free to vendors, buyers and browsers. Not sure what a swap meet is? Well it's a great way to swap, trade or sell or buy unwanted musical items of any description. Just turn up with stuff to sell or trade or just come along and browse. It's a lot of fun and a great way to meet like minded people or to grab a bargain or spare part. Hey! Here's something you may not know! Does your guitar go out of tune? Should you get better machine heads? Probably not!! Read on...... At least once a week, someone calls me up and says: " I need some new machine heads, what've you got?" "Well, I've got heaps! What's the problem" Inevitably, the problem is that the guitar won't hold tune. Of course, it's the machine heads fault right!? Well, maybe not, did you know that machines have a ratio of 14 to 1 or thereabouts? Our Musical Swapmeet in the illustrious Wheatsheaf Hotel 'Back Shed' A great venue with lovely people, lots of musical gear, like pedals, amps, guitars and basses, keyboards, you name it, and of course their delicious beers on tap right there at the bar! For those of you in the know, the PLEK system is a CNC ( computer numeric control) machine that will level your frets to a high tolerance and it's pretty great how it works. Gibson have one installed in their factory and all their guitars get the PLEK treatment before shipping. A few guitar shops are getting them as well and the future look ok for PLEK.

Swap meets are great way to get rid of stuff you don't need and buy stuff you like at the same time. It's a giant trash and treasure for musicians right here in Adelaide.
