Yesterday (April 21) was the 188th Anniversary of San Jacinto Day, commemorating the Battle of San Jacinto on the shores of what is now the Houston Ship Channel, where a small army of Texians and Tejanos struck a larger force of Mexicans, then under the command of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, a notably incompetent commander and all around bad person.

I've always wondered there is the picture of Doolittle being presented with his Medal of Honor for his raid on Tokyo. I could't seem to upload the picture but it is well known. Anyway my question is why was his MOH getting pinned to his chest as opposed to being put around his neck with a ribbon? Never seen the MOH presented that way, this is the only picture I've seen were it is being pinned on a chest.

50+ years ago I used to tag along with my Marine Dad when he would go through people’s old Barns and sheds looking for antiques and one time I found this picture stashed away under a pile of stuff in the back corner of an old man’s barn.
