I must admit that when I think about styling a tie, I picture images of Diane Keaton or Britney Spears asking to be “hit me one more time.” Fast forward to 2025, and brands like YSL are challenging us to add a touch of masculinity to our wardrobes. Let’s be honest: a tie can easily be borrowed from any man's wardrobe. The red tie mentioned above actually belongs to a neighbour. Thrift stores often offer ties at very low prices. Learning how to tie a tie is a simple styling trick that can add colour and interest to any outfit. YSL filled their front rows with popular influencers to promote th ..read more

Putting away the heels?

One minute, I was strutting along carefree, swinging my Birkin, wearing a frothy silk skirt and 3-inch suede-heeled boots, feeling and loving the moment, and then uncontrollably heading straight for the pavement. …… I slowly rose to my knees, my sunglasses lost somewhere nearby. The dampness of a city puddle seeped through my now black skirt as I cleaned my hands and cautiously regained my balance. Looking around desperately, I realized nobody had come to help or even showed concern. Two men stood nearby, sheepishly staring at their phones. Others glanced my way, including a lady who sold flo ..read more

It's pretty simple, minimal clothing. It's not flashy or ostentatious, but it's rich-looking, luxurious, chic, and elegant. I’m falling for the understatedly stylish shades of brown. Hand on heart, I never realised I had so many variations of large brown bags, in various shades of camel, tan, moc-crock, suede, etc. They are wise investments and a colour that never dates. I always believed a lady with a classic dark brown Kelly or Birkin could rule the world…I still do. Styling brown textures with indulgent sheepskin, vintage suede with the coziness of cashmere lots rich & elegant without ..read more

February starts with Harper's Bazaar. Yes, it's me, featured alongside some of my favourites, including Grece Ghanem. Winter sheepskin, faux fur, and teddy jackets—lots of layering. I can't argue with Bazaar. Staying cozy in faux fur & shaggy jackets that make a statement staying warm in the coldest month of the year has never been easier. I bought the jacket mentioned above in mid-January while looking for warmth, comfort, and a stylish option to wear during a challenging time when managing a virus and trying to maintain my daily routine. I got it at a fantastic price, with a 70% discou ..read more

The past three weeks have been plagued by a virus that has left me unable to leave the house. I have a constant cough, no appetite, and aches in places I didn’t know existed. I enjoy spending time at home, especially during cold weather, but I won't stay indoors all day, every day. In the second week, I took charge and emptied my drawers to refold and organize my clothes. I realized just how many scarves I own, even though I hardly ever wear them. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'm rapidly approaching 60, despite trying to kid myself otherwise. I'm losing my eyesight and hair, but I ..read more

If you only look back, you’ll never move forward. So, head up, sunglasses on, earrings, lips painted, and a whiff of Chanel—I'm ready for 2025. Are you? A packed December diary calls for sparkling sequins. glittering decorations …no need to wait till nightfall. I find Christmas dressing overrated. Shops look so festive and tempting. Let’s face it: All those mini skirts and sequin dresses are not designed for us middle-aged beauties. Above mixing vintage faux fur with a silver knee-length skirt a look for any age. What’s the alternative? A stunning coat in a seasonal colour radiates both sophistication and cosiness. For a delightful early Christmas lunch, I paired my elegant red Chanel bag with chic Miu Miu burgundy shoes, creating a perfect ..read more

The Christmas spirit is unmistakably upon us, with flickering lights, sparkling trees, and early dustings of snow. I am actively preparing my house and fully embracing the holiday festivities. As the years have passed, I no longer create a Christmas list of presents to buy or even food to prepare. Without children and having lost my mother earlier this year, I know I’ll feel an emptiness this Christmas that cannot be filled. However, I am determined to enjoy the festivities in her absence and am grateful that London has so much to offer. Enjoying the atmosphere of my favourite stores, like H ..read more

I still remember my first pair of knee-high boots. Inspired by an image of Carla Brunei in Vogue, I ventured out to Ravel. Instant sophistication. The nearest I’d owned was pull-on wellies. 35 years later, I rediscovered my passion. The versatility of knee-high boots, from skirts and dresses to shorts, means they are now worn all year round, no longer just a Winter wonder. The above boots from Lunar Shoes have simply been the most flattering of styles. How delighted I was when I came across the article below. The above images indicate my obsession with the Toni boot. As you know, I shoot alm ..read more
