Going to be bidding on a project for cleaning and sealing roughly 30,000 Ft2 of concrete block wall. Specs call for Deco 20. Conservatively estimating about 175 gallons of sealer to be applied. Since I would buy 55 gallon drums, I was thinking about buying a Remco 1.0 GPM pump and a small 12V battery to mount on the top of the drum with a drop tube through the bung. The pumps have 3/8" ports so I was thinking of 50’ of 3/8 non-collapsible hose with a sprayer gun on the end. I could also strap the drums to a dolly that I could easily push along as I move along. Anyone ever do something similar ..read more

Hi ya’ll! I’m doing my first building wash, touch up really; next week. It’s a long drive so I don’t want to come unprepared. The total square footage of wall area is about 12,260. It’s dark black mold growth in limestone. I’m only washing within the areas outlined by the client. I have a 5.5gpm (about 4.5gpm with gun) softwash pump with 35 gallon tank. I want to use 6% but idk if it will be string enough to melt away the dirt so I can just rinse. Should I just use straight bleach? Obviously this affects how much I should buy. Currently planning on buying 55 gallons to batch mix 3 tanks worth ..read more

The job: Three limestone offices that all have polished concrete window ledges. Challenge: Obviously I don’t want to apply any pressure but not sure what solvent to use. SH is not removing the black streaks. Thank you for the guidance. 9 posts - 5 participants Read full topic ..read more

In addition to power washing. I also rent out dumpsters to people, for a somewhat “passive” income. So I was talking to the manager at a local transfer station, he asked me to work him up a price for cleaning the following on a weekly basis. 5,000 Square Foot Concrete Pad (This is where they dump all the garbage onto and it gets fed to an excavator with a front-loader.) One front-loader One Excavator One Skid Steer He stated that they basically just want all of the dirt/trash film cleaned off, not looking for a spotless clean. I quoted him at $800. He passed and stated that that was more tha ..read more

Dairy Coolers

Anyone ever clean dairy coolers? I was contacted by a manufacturer that makes yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. and they want the insides of their coolers cleaned. Coolers will be off and defrosted so freezing isn’t a concern. They want walls, ceilings and floors cleaned. The only thing that’s on any of these surfaces is a thin layer of a “soot like” coating that rubs off with your hand. They are having a quality audit done next month and want them cleaned. They have never been pressure washed. My initial thought is to Dow stream EBC 10:1. What do y’all think? 1 post - 1 participant Read f ..read more

Building Cleaning/paint removal

Hey Everyone! I have a commercial building that needs cleaning. The back side has about 2000 sqft of old flaking paint they want removed, just the loose stuff. After that, they want it soft-washed for paint prep. I plan on laying down some plastic and knocking down the large paint pieces with a stiff brush on a pole, then hitting it with pressure to get the rest of the loose parts. This is where my question comes in. I don’t want this paint going down the drain, though it is lead-free. What would you guys recommend? I’ve called around and cannot find a water reclamation rig for rent. There isn ..read more

Rust on side of Painted-Stone building?

Probably won’t submit a bid on it because of the height, but I was curious why another freestanding building nearby with what appears to be the same paint and material used doesn’t have this issue. I’m assuming each one would need to be hit with F9, but maybe I’m wrong. There are over 100 of these up as high as the roof. This is just a small section.
