There is 68 fixed windows counting both sides they want a monthly bid. There is 552 garage windows counting both sides they want a quote on monthly with the garage windows. So its one quote fixed windows and one quote everything on a monthly frequency. I really want this because I need more reoccurring income in my business but I also don’t want to get it just to get it and hate showing up every month. Also I am about 85% residential and have an exact pricing system with commercial I worry more about competition and get in my own head and I really don’t have a fixed window cost and stuff c ..read more

Thoughts on paying a "vendor" fee?

Had an Associa client recently, but now they want me to set up a Vendor account through their 3rd party system (VendorSmartsm) before I can qualify for any future Associa jobs. Problem is, I have to pay an annual fee to stay in their system. What are your thoughts on this? Is it work paying a fee to be an approved vendor for a commercial management group? Or should I say, “Screw it, I got paid for their 1 job already” and move on? 6 posts - 5 participants Read full topic ..read more

Dirt between the panes on new windows?

I completed a small office building, when checking the windows after, I noticed that the main office windows had a strange haze in between the panes. Sorry, I didn’t get any pictures. But there were 2-3in strips of brown haze running across the windows. On some it was horizontal and on some it was vertical. It was only visible when looking at the windows from an angle in the sun. Also, almost every interior pane had 1” of deep scratches along the vertical edges. The exterior panes were quite pitted and scratched. All this considered I thought that the windows were old and that maybe the hazing ..read more

I did a lot of residential, and store front quotes. This one is special, and I dont know how to quote it. Its about 45-50 feet in height, and impossible to use a waterfed. The entire wall is glass, and there is a metal gate about 1 foot in front of the glass wall. So a squidgee is require for the job. 18 posts - 8 participants Read full topic ..read more

Need help estimating this commercial building

I was contacted by local pressure washing company that I network with. He said he had a lead on a massive (for me) office building. I went and took photos of the building and am estimating around 1000 windows between this building and a smaller building on the property. He would softwash the entire building and I would follow him soon after with the windows. I can do it all with my WFP / trad on doors and low windows, I’m just unsure how to price it. This is by far the largest project I’ve ever done. There’s some trees and bushes in the front of the building that could cause some issue with wf ..read more

Help with commercial PCC bid

Hello, I could use a hand with a bid for a post construction clean on a new four story hotel. 235 total panes in and out. A lift will be available. I have always been a one man show, but will have one person to help for at least most of the job. There is almost no competition in my area, and the builder is trying to keep his hired help local, so I am not too concerned with being outbid (and if I do get outbid, oh well), I mostly want to make it worth my time for the money. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 2 posts - 2 participants Read full topic ..read more

Hi all. Located in the Midwest. Getting into commercial cleaning and I have everything figured out how to do and access the job but at a standstill on quoting this and how long it could take. Any advice would be appreciated! It’s about 28,000 sqft of glass and 3200 total panes. I’m not cleaning frames. Glass only. 13 posts - 7 participants Read full topic ..read more

Solar Panel Commercial

A facilities manager for this building is expecting a quote from me for cleaning the solar panels. I currently charge $7/panel residential but I’m pretty sure it will be underpriced if I do the same for this place. I plan to use WFP and I assume I’ll need to roll my tanks up onto the roof. Does anyone have experience with something like this and any pricing recommendations would be greatly appreciated. 11 posts - 5 participants Read full topic ..read more
