Hi all. My name is Ken Taylor and I am a Vocal Coach in Orlando. Today I’m taking the time to share some singing tips that will help each of you Sing Better Now! Some of these tips are more detailed and some are very basic, but I want to encourage each of you to take notice of each tip as I find that they are often helpful to both beginner and advanced students alike.  8 Ways to Sing Better Now – 1.  Open your mouth when you’re singing!  Singers who keep their mouths mostly closed are likely tense in the tongue and are far from a ..read more

Need voice lessons, but don’t know who to take from in your area? Or, perhaps you were like me and had taken from many different people, but never found exactly what you were looking for. Sadly though, many people never find those teachers. Why? Well, frankly, it’s because if they’re that great, they’re probably teaching in a city where they can pull top dollar for their skills. Singing Tips Blog

Hey everyone, I’m usually not big on promoting things, but I just ran across this super cool tool, so I figured I’d share with everyone. It’s called iLift (it’s an app). This little app gives you the ability to change the key of a song, up or down, and also lets you speed up or slow down a song. It’s super easy to use, and selects music straight from your itunes library (so if you buy a karaoke track on iTunes, you should be able to use it just fine). This app is presently $9.99 and I don’t believe provides you an easy way to transfer your song to a CD (I just played with it on my iP ..read more

How to Breathe When Singing

This was actually one of my first videos that I shared with my community of singers, and it’s on how to breathe when singing. Check it out. My final caution to anyone watching this video is this. Breathing should not be the entirety of any vocal technique. The breath is merely the gas on which our vocal automobile runs. But, in order for it to continue to work, there are many other things that must be present. You can’t drive a car without tires, and engine, or a steering wheel, and so you shouldn’t try to focus your entire vocal technique on just the fuel for your voice alone. I hope this ma ..read more

Whether you’re living the life of a performer or looking into it, there is one personality trait that you MUST have in order to be a professional singer. You have to be able to deal with rejection, and deal with it often. I’ve seen it countless times, both in friends and students. They’ll come to me all excited because they’ve finally muster up the courage to follow their dream of becoming a professional singer/performer. Judging by the look on their face, they’re ready to take on the world. But all too often, a month or two later there excitement turns into doubt after a series of carefully p ..read more
