For many club players Club Championship week coincides with the US Open and it’s the event of the year where you’d like to possess the pro’s ability to play great golf when the pressure is on. Whether it’s the scratch prize, the net event or just making the halfway cut, it’s the event of the club calendar that tends to create more nerves amongst us than any other. . . In the lead up to the big weekend the driving range and putting green are busier than any other time of the year as we look to find that key ingredient or swing thought that will give us a chance of collecting a trophy. US Masters

My earliest memory of watching golf was the US Masters. Late into Sunday night we sat glued to grainy pictures of Nick Faldo holing a putt across the green in the dark to triumph against Scott Hoch. A golden time where the magic of Augusta was restricted to a couple of hours on BBC2 from 9pm. The front 9 was rarely seen, which added to the mystery of golf’s most secretive venue. A year later and Ray Floyd’s ball dropped into the water on 11 to give Faldo a second jacket. The first player since Jack Nicklaus to record back-to-back wins. Thanks to Sandy and Nick the door for European winners w ..read more

Golf Anxiety – the enemy of a good score!

Anxiety is the mind and body’s reaction to stressful, dangerous, or unfamiliar situations. Apart from slippery steps in the winter and the odd rogue livestock there isn’t much real danger on the golf course, but we know there are plenty of stressful and unfamiliar situations to deal with. Stress on the golf course can start with first tee nerves or the desire to do well in a competition but not letting these feelings affect your performance is key. . Unfamiliar situations can be finding ourselves level par after 6 holes or several shots under handicap with only a few to play. That’s when anxi ..read more

Like a perfectly tailored suit right off the rack, nature provides golfers with an ideal resource to enhance their scoring ability and enjoyment of the game. One close look at the benefits of CBD and you see it’s the ideal supplement for golf. Improved mood, response to stress and calm focus are skills golfers try to master with mental discipline, methods of breathing and years of training. Professionals have the time to commit to these extensive training programs. Most amateurs however do not and are left trying to achieve a consistent mental approach while riding the roller coaster of a r ..read more

Winter isn’t our favourite time of year but if like us you keep playing, we’ve got some tips from our pros to give you an edge through the colder months. Jacques Blaauw – Challenge Tour My winter tip is to spend a little more time on your short game. When you play in wet and soft conditions also check that your wedges have more bounce than in the Summer. I see most amateurs play with the wrong wedges when the course is wet. Ask your pro as a simple change of equipment to suit the conditions can improve your chipping and pitching, knocking 1 or 2 shots off per round and lowering your handicap e ..read more

A sweet, capsule or drop of oil that can improve your golf, I’m not having that! This is a common response when we go to promotional days, golf events or even visiting some pro shops. British golfers are sceptical and we understand that. The answer we always give is CBD won’t improve the mechanics of your golf swing, if you whip it inside and come over the top you’ll still hit the ball left to right. To improve your golf swing you need to get sound instruction and spend some time on the range and short-game area. What CBD does is put you in a perfect state to make the most of the game you ..read more

The Importance of Good Sleep
Golfers CBD Blog

Good preparation is essential to play your best golf and it all starts with how well you sleep. Time in bed is when we recharge and replenish for the day ahead. Concentration and clear thinking are important aspects of golf and good sleep leaves us feeling refreshed and alert on the 1st tee, ready to go from the first shot. If you don’t get enough sleep your brain cannot function properly, which can impair your ability to concentrate and think clearly. If you arrive on the tee tired it can take a few holes to reach the required level of concentration. If those early holes are poor you can s ..read more
