SWEET ITCH IN HORSES

In mid February I treated my first case of Sweet Itch in 2022 ! A bit early you could say The midge Culicoides which causes Sweet itch is active usually April to October , most active in marshy,  wooded areas from dawn to dusk, so keep horses in from dusk to dawn to try and prevent contact with the midge In this case the horse was in a wet wooded area and of course the Winter/Spring was so mild that midges were active  most of the time The Homeopathic remedy I precribed worked very well and the horse is now in good shape ..read more

I am currently treating 4 animals -3 dogs and 1 horse with problems after booster  Vaccination with their relevant  Vaccines In these cases the time between the booster and the problem arising varied from 3 days to 7 weeks In one of the dogs the problem is a red rash on the abdomen In another one intermittent vomiting/diarrhoes -urine incontinence again intermittent and fear of travelling in a car In a third one symptoms are  petit mal and fear of being left alone On 15/09/21 owner stated ” dog a lot calmer and happier and petit mal down from at least 2 to 3 per day to 2 per wee ..read more

Traveling with Pets from the UK to the EU The rules for pet travel from or in the UK might change at the end of the transition period if the UK and EU don’t reach an agreement.
