Hello, recently observing the night sky what appeared to be the distortion of the light of a star. Taking as reference leonis 46 Praecipua, is a star in the constellation Leo Minor. It is the brightest star in the constellation, with an apparent magnitude of 3.79. The star is located about 100 light-years from Earth. The HDW3 planetary nebula is a planetary nebula in the constellation Perseus. It is a large, ancient nebula, with a diameter of about 1 light year. Its distinctive braid shape is the result of the interaction of the central star’s stellar wind with the surrounding material. HDW3 was discovered in 1986 by astronomers Hartl, Dengel and Weinberger. It is located at a distance of approximately 2,500 light years from Earth. The central star of HDW3 is a white dwarf, which is the core of a star that has exhausted its nuclear fuel. The white dwarf’s stellar wind is blowing away surrounding material ..read more

The central star is HD 148937, a massive star 40 times larger than the Sun The nebula is formed by gases ejected by the star HD 148937. The star is in the final phase of its life and is expelling its outer layers of gas as it contracts. The nebula NGC 6164-5 is an object of great scientific interest. The nebula is also a useful object for studying stellar evolution. 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic ..read more

Hi everyone! I’ve created a tour and it seems that the only way for others to view it is to send a link to them. However, I want this tour to be accessible to anyone online. Is there a way to be able to post it under the Guided Tours tab on the WWT website. If so, what additional steps should I take? 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic ..read more

Showing telescope FOV using JS API

Hi, I’m experimenting with the embedded hosted version (WWT WebGL Engine Reference Manual). I’m trying to restrict the camera zoom / FOV or draw an overlay showing FOV, to simulate the view of a telescope / camera combination. Similar to this function: Showing fields of view — pywwt 0.15.2 documentation Does any one know the best approach using the JS API to do this? Steve 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic ..read more

Observing the night sky around (GMT6) 02:12 a.m. Tonight I managed to spot a possible transit or some kind of Interaction with the Light of the star. The reference field is 40 lions Observing the sky in total darkness satisfies my way of seeing the stars. A galaxy and another astronomical object. He also asked me about the darkest and faintest points and around some stars. This other object I would love to investigate. 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic ..read more
