How to focus with Bathinov & low resolution

Hello, it's been a long time since I was disconnected from astrophotography and obviously also from capture software. My question is related to the focus with Bathinov, when using a very low focal length (360mm) it is very difficult for me to discern that the diffraction beam is in the centre, how can I increase the exposure time and the sensitivity of the live view, to be able to see the star with a bigger size ..read more

BackyardEOS 3.5.0 will install side-by-side of previously installed versions of BackyardEOS; they can coexist just fine on the same computer. If you don’t need your previously installed version, you can remove it without any impact on 3.5.x. Your BackyardEOS 3.2.x software key will work with BackyardEOS 3.5.x ~ it’s a free upgrade!     ..read more

Auto rotation setting Canon SL1

It seems that, despite having the "image auto rotation" set to off, as the telescope follows the target at some point the camera decides that its time to go from "portrait" to "landscope" and the resulting CR2 files are rotated 90 degrees.  My processing software (Siril) seems mostly to handle it, but I noticed that occasionally it fails and rejects an image that occurs as the first rotated image.  Am I missing something here? Rick I know you have used Eclipse Orchestrator but don't know if you know about the Beta version. 1.3.9.     It is on the support page under the instructions for downloading the free copy.  I was looking in the product page and other places and missed it before the Annular Eclipse.  When I got back I was trying to find if I could load copies on multiple computers and stumbled across the Beta version download.     Of course this is available to any other users or those interested in purchasing the Pro version and want to see what the new version has in it.  Th ..read more

Cannot Validate Licence Key

I hate to bark up this tree as it seems like a common issue. I downloaded the Backyard eos 3.2.3 trial, just to see if I could get it to run. I am running Windows 7 professional and really like it, so i'm not up for upgrading as it works fine with all my other astronomy gear. I cannot get the validation code to accept. The code is right and the identifier is right, but I keep getting the error where it says I have to be connected to the internet and make sure that any firewall or security software is not blocking it. I have checked the setting in regedit and it is running TLS 1.2 after going t ..read more
