Any apprentice wizard can cast a boring old  . Sure, it always strikes its target. Yawn. Do away with the drudgery of your grandfather’s magic with this improved version of the spell, as used by Jim Darkmagic! You create three twisting, whistling, hypoallergenic, gluten-free darts of magical force. Each dart targets a creature of your choice that you can see within range. Make a ranged spell attack for each missile. On a hit, a missile deals 2d4 force damage to its target. If the attack roll scores a critical hit, the target of that missile takes 5d4 force damage instead of you rolling da ..read more

Some of the smallest draconic creatures in the multiverse, kobolds display their draconic ancestry in the glint of their scales and in their roars. Legends tell of the first kobolds emerging from the Underdark near the lairs of the earliest dragons. In some lands, kobolds serve chromatic or metallic dragons—even worshiping them as divine beings. In other places, kobolds know too well how dangerous those dragons can be and help others defend against draconic destruction. Whatever their relationship to dragons, kobold scales tend to be rust colored, although the occasional kobold sports a scale ..read more

Minotaurs are barrel-chested humanoids with heads resembling those of bulls. Blessed with a supernaturally strong sense of direction, minotaurs make great navigators. Some sages believe minotaurs were first created by the Lady of Pain to patrol the magical mazes that she uses to trap her foes. Minotaur horns range in size from about 1 foot long to easily three times that length. Minotaurs often carve their horns to sharpen their edges, etch symbols of power into them, or sheathe them in bronze to prevent them from shattering during battle. Thick hair extends down minotaurs’ necks and powerful ..read more

As one might expect from humanoid elephants, Loxodons are a peaceful, calm people… Until you scare them. When frightened or angry, they bring the energy of a stampede all within a single 8 ft tall creature. They bring the size and wisdom that is wanted and loved by the  , and thus are often sought after as powerful guardians or devout worshippers.  While they are almost exactly like elephants stood up on their hind legs, their hands do have digits that can grasp weapons. Their thick, leathery skin makes them relatively comfortable in both hot and cold environments, though their sense ..read more

A winged people who originated on the Elemental Plane of Air, aarakocra soar through the sky wherever they wander. The first aarakocra served the Wind Dukes of Aaqa—mighty beings of air—and were imbued with a measure of their masters’ power over winds. Their descendants still command echoes of that power. From below, aarakocra look like large birds and thus are sometimes called birdfolk. Only when they roost on a branch or walk across the ground is their Humanoid nature clear. Standing upright, aarakocra are typically about 5 feet tall, and they have long, narrow legs that taper to sharp talon ..read more

—D&D BeyondPlaying a Changeling is a dream come true for players eager to try out a variety of races, personalities, and voices. If you get bored being stuck with one PC for a campaign, this is the race for you. Their class may stay the same, but the looks and personality can fluctuate from game to game. Seven in-progress pictures below. I love the organic armor she is wearing. I wonder if it shifts shape as well?

With ever-changing appearances, changelings reside in many societies undetected. Each changeling can supernaturally adopt any face they like. For some changelings, a new face is only a disguise. For other changelings, a new face may reveal an aspect of their soul. In their true form, changelings appear faded, their features almost devoid of detail. It is rare to see a changeling in that form, for a typical changeling changes their shape the way others might change clothes. A casual shape—one created on the spur of the moment, with no depth or history—is called a mask. A mask can be used to exp ..read more

Elves can live well over 700 years, giving them a broad perspective on events that might trouble the shorter-lived races more deeply. They are more often amused than excited, and more likely to be curious than greedy. They tend to remain aloof and unfazed by petty happenstance. When pursuing a goal, however, whether adventuring on a mission or learning a new skill or art, elves can be focused and relentless. They are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. They..

With their unearthly grace and fine features, elves appear hauntingly beautiful to humans and members of many other races. They are slightly shorter than humans on average, ranging from well under 5 feet tall to just over 6 feet. They are more slender than humans, weighing only 100 to 145 pounds. Males and females are about the same height, and males are only marginally heavier than females. Elves can live well over 700 years, giving them a broad perspective on events that might trouble the shorter-lived races more deeply. "Commander?" To'mas said as he entered the tent of Captain Rico.  "You sent for me?" "To'mas, come in.  Have a seat".  Captain Rico sat at his desk, which was strewn with a number of maps and dispatches.  He puffed on his pipe and surveyed a document in his hand one last time before looking up to meet the single eyed gaze of To'mas.  "Thank you for coming" he said as he re-folded the slip of parchment ..read more
