Don’t think I have ever had caviar on BA in 40 years. I did remarkably once have it on American Airlines when flying back from Dallas. The wheeled out an extraordinary ice sculpture from which it was served with vodka and all the accompaniments. Qatar dod a fine job on their F service too. Still, its hard to beat Cunard where I had it every night for week crossing to New York in QG. You have to ask but having done so it was provided to the entire table of 8 for the duration. Wonderful indulgence ..read more

Just tried the app, same result. I would never willing travel with this carrier, their IT systems are absolute rubbish. If the company didn’t have monopoly power at Heathrow (please read the definition, before saying it doesn’t) I wonder if such a deficiency in IT (which is a source of competitive edge) would allow it to be so successful financially? https://www.economicsonline.co.uk/business_economics/monopoly.html ..read more

FDOS – this has been happening for some months, at different times of the day. However, actually, 0710 BST would be a peak time for BA – although that’s no excuse for the “sh$t-show”. I have usually found swapping from my PC and using the BA app on my phone works when this message appears. PS: I have been experiencing the same problem recently with a number of UK large organisations – bank, credit card, power etc. Again, the phone app seems to work better with all of them ..read more

Emirates have a lovely “unlimited” caviar service, although one serving is enough as there is so much else to eat! It is fabulous and have it every time I am lucky enough to fly with them. Its a real luxury & would always try it if available. I would say that BA has probably a few other things to focus on prior to adding caviar to the menu[/img ..read more

FDOS = Yes -these days it the locking pin of course – sorry poorly described. I took special note leaving from HK yesterday ‘esselle’ and in essence that is exactly what happened. At Cape Town a while back (Long Haul) it was more formally done with the dispatchers standing to attention and saluting rather than waving ..read more
