Hello experts!
On all my recent BA flights, on the return flight back to London my boarding pass has beeped red at the gate with “unable to board” and the agents will take my passport and press a few buttons on the computer before I can board. I think there was a message in the app saying my passport would need to be checked at the airport due to rules of my destination country (the UK). But no one else seems to have this problem and I also don’t have this problem departing London. Anyone know what’s going on here ..read more

Hi all,
I’m an avid reader of the forums and have been waiting for the opportunity to seek your collective wisdom and very excited for it to have arrived!
I currently have 700 tier points but only two qualifying flights on my BA exec account. My year ends at the beginning of September and I’m very keen to trigger the upgrade to silver ahead of this.
Does anyone have any tips on the cheapest and most time efficient way to achieve this? Slightly hamstrung by 1. Living in the midlands 2. Having a small child and a full time job and 3. Convincing my husband this isn’t a terrible idea…
I’ve bee ..read more

I am BA Gold and will be checking in at T5 with two friends who are flying to a different destination than myself. Can I take them through the First check-in area with me?
Obviously they will not get access to the lounge as they are on different flights and Gold only allows one guest anyway (if they are traveling on same flight ..read more

Hello, I am a newbie and hope someone can help me. We are a family and booked economy flight on AA6996 (operated by BA) from LHR to SFO on Fri 17th of may. Since reservating seats with BA is not cheap I did not reserve so far and was thinking on waiting for online checkin 24h before flight and reserving seats for free. Of course we (2 adults one teenager) would like to sit together (and as comfy as possible :-)..)
Do you think it is very risky to wait for that 24h window to get 3 seats together? I watched on expertflyer and the flight looks pretty empty so far, but I don´t know what to do?

I’m unsure if this is the best place to post this but you are all so knowledgeable. Tomorrow HI is flying from Alicante to Heathrow via Madrid. The connection time from Iberia (Air Nostrum) to BA Terminal 4S is 55 mins? This was ticketed by Iberia, it is one. PNR, and he is hand luggage only. The arrival time from ALC is scheduled at 18.55 and his departure is 19.50. Does he have to go through Security again from Domestic to International?
If everything is on time, has he sufficient time to do this?
If this should be in Iberia Forum please move this please Les Mods ..read more

Anyone any thoughts on who he can approach here?
he’s booked through BA on an AA codeshare and they’ve denied boarding to many passengers. Bizarrely their luggage has been left onboard! AA insist he contacts BA, BA insist he contact AA. Neither have fronted up for hotels or food even though they’re now around 5h after takeoff. Needless to say he’s a little disgruntled at the lack of cooperation here. Which airline should be taking on duty of care ..read more

From my experience; it’s only getting worse. This is their home terminal for crying out loud - waiting an hour for luggage delivery is embarrassing. Why aren't they addressing this ..read more

With the BAEC status match, and alot of folks indicating getting BAEC status in case their AA CK status did not get renewed, I am starting a new thread for folks coming from AA LP/AAdvantage to the BAEC program with abit of bias towards high spenders/premium cabin travelers. What I have researched so far is skewed towards comparing GGL vs CK; but no need to limit this thread to such premium flying.
Personally, even though I got renewed for AA CK this year, and having been a multiyear CK, I am switching over to BAEC for the lifetime status, significant cost savings and flexibility of being abl ..read more

Apologies -- I know this has been asked but I can't find the thread.
I was able to find an Avios upgrade (used 241 voucher) from business to first for a flight to LHR next week. We had paid for seat selection for the business seats, and I know I have applied and received a refund when I bought an AUP for previous flights, but I'm not sure if I'm eligible to have these fees refunded, as I bought the upgrade ahead of time -- that is to say, not at the airport on the day of the flight. The phone agent said the seat fees are not refundable, (I know that normally they are not) but I know many here ..read more
