My "pavement special" needs some TLC if it is going to get round CTCT again and I need some parts. It is a Hansom rigid steel frame "mountain bike" from about 1990.
It still has an original Shimano "Biopace" chainring. But it is worn and needs to be retired. I an happy to replace it with a conventional round chainring (I will keep the old one in case someone wants to restore it to original one day) but for the moment I want to ride it. The original is a combined item with chainring riveted onto the cranks. So I need a 3x (7 speed) chainring, 48, 38, 28 teeth (but wider ratios could be fun) on ..read more

…something about this add looks “off”; maybe just me, the price s-E-E-m-s to me to be low, as if this was a previously liberated bicycle?
Or is that indeed what they fetch? No slight intended!
Pretty ingenious folding handlebar/s!

Greetings,
I am earnestly in search of a bicycle that resembles the one I cherished during my high school days. Back then, I owned a Hansome racing bike featuring a Reynolds 525 frame, a Shimano 105 groupset, and a custom paint job in the colors of the Pretoria show. I believe it had a 62cm frame size, which suited my height of 1.96 meters. Please refer to the provided image for a visual reference. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in connecting with someone who possesses a similar bicycle and is willing to part with it. It is imperative that the bike is in its original condition.

Hey fellow hubbers. I'm looking for some advise. I've purchased a steel frame Lejeune and restored the bike from top to bottom.
Once I serviced the bottom bracket and refitted the crank, I tightened a bit too much and the nut holding the crank in place snapped off. It is therefore stuck in the bb spindle. I'm really annoyed as I was nearing the end of the project and I went and made this balls up.
So my question is, which of the following steps is best:
1) Should I remove the entire spindle style bottom bracket and cups and replace with a new sealed bottom bracket? My only worry ab ..read more
