So I just picked up a really solid steel framed bike from England, well the owner brought it over here to the states years ago when he moved here and now he is in his 60s and moving back and decided not to take the bike with him. I am not finding anything on this model. Its a Muddy Fox Mega 550, tange steal frame , shimano 7 spd lx groupset with Tektro brake levers. Does anybody know anything about this bike? Maybe year made ? thanks ..read more

Reflex brand bikes???

Anyone have any interesting info on these "Reflex" brand bikes? I just had this older bike handed to me from a friend to resurrect from the dead. Hasn't seen any action in over 10 years - lost in time. I'm going to get it spruced up for his wife to ride. I barely remember these bikes from the late 80's. This one looks to be a 89 or 90 - first generation (push push) STI. Frame says Easton E9 tubing, appears to be bonded to aluminum lugs. The tubing is anodized blue and the lugs are... Hi guys, some time ago an unknown in my street threw this bike on the trash. I salvaged it for the parts, some were quite nice (XTR Brakes and headset, XT levers, Ritchey stem), and somehow the frame grew on me. it‘s got a lugged seatpost, so I thought it could be a ritchey. But the seatstays dont look Ritchey to me? I The downtube is stamped TAT and there is a serial number on the seattube whichstarts with DSOO or DS00 Any info is greatly appreceated Greetings from Germany [ATTACH... 2000 Klein Adroit Pro headset adapter problem

Long story short. My son went to buy a wheelset from craigslist and was given this Klein frame in addition to the wheels. I'm pretty sure it is a 2000 Adroit Pro in Night Storm paint. The guy said he used a 1 1/8 fork on it, but half of the headset adapter stuff is missing. Unlike some Klein bikes, this one is 2" on the bottom and 1.75 on the top. The good news is that the top part of the adapter mechanism seems to be in place, but something is missing on the bottom. A 1 1/8 fork fits... 2000 Klein Adroit Pro headset adapter problem ..read more

I am getting a well used Bontrager frame that definitely needs a makeover and new powder coating. I was thinking of going the original black way... but then my creative side took over... now, I cannot decide. Tips for rebuilding 80s Giant?

I love my riding 1989 Giant Sierra and use it as my go-anywhere ATB (mostly gravel and forest paths). The paint is extremely chipped and scratched, and my touch ups haven’t helped much (looks better in the photo than in person), so I’m having it repainted. This creates an opportunity for braze-ons—specifically, I’m considering adding rear cantis to the seat stays and removing the chain stay-mounted U-break. Good idea? Bad? A second area of consideration is the drivetrain. I really enjoy... Tips for rebuilding 80s Giant ..read more

'97 Manitou Answer or Marzocchi for my Trek 970

Recently acquired a 1995 Trek 970 in gorgeous condition I want to have some fun with (OXIII)! The only thing it needs is the frozen suspension fork dealt with. This was the first year Trek used a suspension correct geometry and I assume that means forks in the 40-60 or 70mm range. The frozen fork I think is a 1997 Manitou Answer Pro C or Pro Cartridge. Rebuild kits are available for $60. Before I shell out any money that's getting me halfway to the cost of a Marzocchi Z2 of some flavor with... I like the unusual frame design. I'm thinking of grabbing this C-Dale Killer V bike rigid hardtail.as a new project. No Headshok. Has a Pepperoni Fork. Looks like a Coda crankset A decent rider? Worth fixing up or breaking down for the parts? Definitely worth the $50 asking IMO. Who's had one ..read more
