Quintana Roo "Kilo" USA made! Photos in next post. I figured with this bike being over 20yrs old it might qualify as vintage. It also has indexing to friction shifting options so it somewhat overlaps the old and the new. A very lightweight ("KILO" model refers to frame being one Kilogram/2.2 lbs) alloy bike with aero tubing frame, "wishbone" seat and chain stays, and aero carbon fork. Set-up as a "Tri" bike with Profile Design "Carbon Stryke" Ironman carbon aero bars with Shimano bar end shifters, Cane Creek headset, Shimano 105 drivetrain, HyperGlide 9 speed cassette, Shimano 105 "Hollowtec ..read more

Fusar Poli/Rossin fluted frame

Since I previously referenced Rossin custom making shaped tubing for frames (e.g. "Ghibli" model; their Columbus "SLX" custom fluted frame), here is a frame design that is fairly rare. I have only seen 1 other fluted "CROMOR" version of this frame; a Rossin badged frame circa '90 or a little later which shows that Rossin was producing these frames for themselves as well as others. I cannot find a Rossin catalogue with it showing a bike with this tubing, but they made it for at least 2 years. Fusar Poli (FP) branded Rossin made frame made with Columbus "CROMOR" (special special lightweight seam ..read more

Santini fluted frame

I obtained this odd '80s frame for one of my winter projects. I am still trying to research it due to the name (unknown marque to me) and tubing. It utilizes "Gilco like" fluting; but 5 flutes instead of 4 as found on "Gilco" tubing used on Colnago Masters and other bikes. I think the frame tubing (3 main tubes at least) are Columbus; but probably modified outside of their factory as I have recently found out that Rossin made their own shaped tubing (I have a Rossin frame made with 4 flute Columbus "CROMOR"). The fork is full Columbus (steerer-reinforced, blades, and drop-outs); and rear drop ..read more

Slingshot road bike

Early '90s road bike model Slingshot (c. '91). Just curious if anyone has any experience riding this bike. True Temper CroMo frame with Vitus alloy fork. Heavy duty sprung cable as downtube/suspension; flex "bushing" at rear of top tube connecting to seat tube. I am told the weight was about 25 lbs without pedals so not a very lightweight design even if fit with lower weight components. I guess the spring assy and beefier top tube with the flex joint adds a fair amount of weight compared to a lightweight down tube and top tube design. Since these were used in an off-road capacity (see mtb vers ..read more

Four person bike with treadle sewing machine. Charles on top pedalling, mom sewing, son pedaling, daughter up front. 1939 Chicago. For a tradesman bike this might too the cake; but many similar bikes built in Europe for just about any trade they could figure out a way to conduct business on it. This bike is essentially a 2 story tandem   sewing-bike.jpg (Size: 103.38 KB / Downloads: 5 ..read more

Saronni Colnago Critrium Frame set

I am getting ready to start a build up on this rather odd frame by Colnago(?). "Aero" tubing frame ("oval" top and down tubes) with "Saronni" badging. If anyone has some info regarding its manufacture I would be pleased to hear it. I cannot find an example of it in any Colnago catalogue; it may have been a contract build by another frame maker; Colnago did this with some of their bikes. It has "Saronni" pantographs and rear dropouts (front dropouts are Campagnolo), but no Colnago markings anywhere other than the decals which are not original. I have seen the slotted bottom bracket on other Col ..read more

2010 Schwinn Riverside 7 Speed S5368KM

Public media provides very brief references to Schwinn Riverside cruiser bicycles. They were manufactured by Fuji-Ta Bicycle Co., Ltd during the era of Dorel Pacific-Cycle LLC. The 2009 and 2010 Schwinn Product Catalogs (issuu.com) do not include descriptions of this model. Manufacturing and marketing policies of many companies developed third-party branding arrangements under specific contracts with various retailers. Sears & Roebuck, K-mart and Target have been referenced. Montgomery Ward used "Riverside" as a proprietary brand for vehicle accessories. However, I have not found product r ..read more

Help to ID a vintage bike's frame

Hi all! I'm new to the forum and to retro bikes, as I'm an avid cyclist and MTB rider but last week I got my first vintage bike (for very cheap) from an ad online. The seller had no idea about the make and model of the bike (said it was a gift to him), even though it has Bianchi decals all over - head label, 2 on seat tube reading "Bianchi Prodotto su Licenza P.V. Edoardo Biachi Italia" and the other reads: "TTS Tubi Trafilati Speciali Bianchi". Over the last week I did plenty hours of research and looking at 70s and 80s Bianchis online but did not find any perfect match for my frame. Most of ..read more

Hi Guys, Just picked up this frame, anyone heard of the name? It's Frank Shaw. It seems pretty nice, super light and came with campy and cinelli components. On the wheel it says "Handbuilt by frank Shaw Camberley" but an internet search throws up absolutely nothing. Can anyone help? Chris http://www.flickr.com/photos/70218128@N08/6372578229 ..read more

Help identifying this Garry bike?

Someone on Reddit suggested I make a post here, so hope someone has some info! This bike was recently purchased by my dad and we are both wondering if there is any info out there about it. the seller thought it was from the 40s, due to some mechanics of the bike. It is apparently Raleigh made (from some parts on the bike that were branded with Raleigh) but the logo reads GARRY. It is made in England as well, and the only number we could find is on the bottom, 706, which is weird for a Raleigh made bike from what I’ve been told. We were unable to find any other example of this bike anywhere on ..read more
