Hello, I don’t have a dairy goat, but a Pygmy goat. I couldn’t find another forum I could post in. My goat had a false pregnancy during summer, and her udders are still full of milk months later. I milked her a few times (once every few weeks) since I felt bad and didn’t want her to have discomfort. I have stop milking her for a few months hoping it will dry up. Her udders are still huge and at a lost what to do… I’m still new at owning goats and just want what’s best for her ..read more

Rex, my first ever "alpha" dog taught me so much about loyalty... from sharing a bale of hay in the barn as we tried to sleep in the subzero cold while waiting for a doe to kid, to lying at guard over the girls waiting for me to return home from an errand so he could pass guard duty on before crossing that rainbow bridge. He died in my arms that day in August and a lot of me died with him. This year's February kidding season was very difficult for me as I missed his companionship though I... August 24,2012 ..read more

Zoe, you were my bestest, most favorite girl in the world. You were always so sweet and loving and a great mommy and milker. Chrysta, I loved you too, even though we had our differences, you were a sweet girl and so typically Alpine. Singer and your unborn kids, You kept me on my toes and I loved you. You always had beautiful babies and I know these would have be wonderful too. Aine, you were your mothers wonderful daughter and would have been just like her. Essy, you were more Nubian... Goat Town USA Sadie Mae (N1499218) was born April 24th 2009 and passed away January 9th, 2016 of post kidding complications. Sadie became herd queen in June 2013 after the retirement of the former queen. From that time until she passed she was the dominant force in the herd. Sadie was first at everything. She was first at the feeders, first to the milk stand, and first at ripping open feed bags before they could be unloaded into the barn. She lead the herd all over the property when it... Hazel was a four year old doe who spent her whole life in this herd. I remember the cold January night when she was born as well as her first set of triplets. Hazel was the first kid I disbudded and her head showed it. Hazel was know for triplets and had three sets in her brief life. She is survived by a daughter, Nanette, and a two week old doeling ..read more

I know. I am supposed to be a tough farmer, but, I guess I am really not. I write a lot-I think it is how I cope sometimes, especially when things just don't make a lot of sense to me. and, so, I just wrote this. I'm So Sorry (for Clarice's baby goat-boy 5/16/2014-5/18/2014) I was excited, so happy to see, Your Mom getting bigger, and more snugly with me. I knew one day soon, you would enter this world. A boy would be fine, though I hoped for a girl. I had no idea, it would be that same... I'm so Sorry ..read more

It sure does bother me because she was only stayed at my farm since May of this year and she passed away over this weekend. It was so short. I was looking forward to babies from her and it didnt happened that way! So she is better off now ..read more
