Can't believe I am this emotional over him. He had a short but amazing life. A reject from the shop floor at pet at home saw him move to the adoption side. Then I got him.. Then the chaos started. Eating the Wi-Fi cable Jumping in a bucket of bleach and needed a operation Jumping in the swing bin the night after he was done. Then been unable to get out!! We always said Jack could be a field ornament as long as we could keep him happy and sound with minimal intervention. He's been one for several years now, with on-off Danilon to keep him sound and breathing supplements/dust free/soaked hay or haylage to stop his COPD flaring up. I know I haven't said much on here about it but since November I've really been struggling with Little Un. He went from fighting fit and playing in the stubble fields - his play made confident riders look askance and ask if I was safe lol - to laminitis, PPID, even more rotation and thinned soles, then a head injury (stroke?) and an impaction colic and dehydration that end up with drips rigged up in his stable. Just gone to put the chicks to bed and found one of the girls dead. She laid an egg today and was bumbling around fine, but cold and gone. Lost the big cockerel couple of weeks ago. Not that old, around 6. Such a shame, she was a nice little girl ..read more

Sasa was down on the yard when we went up to get them in, she does lie down in the field, but given it was teatime she would normally be up and standing at the door, desperate to come in. Nor did she get up, while i put all the buckets in etc. Instead I had to go with a bucket of food to try to tempt her to try to get up. When she got to her feet, she was hardly able to move. I just got news that my old horse Big Blaze lost his battle with cancer he was the most amazing horse, he was a bit silly but never dangerous, he was like a puppy. I learnt to ride on him, we chased cows, did trails and a bit of dressage. I can’t believe he’s gone, he was only 10. Yesterday our gorgeous girl left us at 9.15am. We used a wonderful company called Dignipets who came to our home, so she went very peacefully, in her own bed under the window in our lounge. She is now laid to rest in the field where Gracie was earlier this year.
