I feel like she was still so young, she was 22 months old, but it really feels like I only just got her. Her respiratory seemed to be getting better once I got her enrofloxacin, but she seemed to have had a stroke on wednesday, and she just got worse and worse. I had 2 rats and one died last night I've read that i should either get more or rehome him. Hes 2yrs old so don't want to rehome him in case he gets put down because hes old. I came home today to find my old boy, my dearest Ratchet passed away while I was at work. He was, and is my heart rat, and I am devastated. He was the last survivor of his mischief, and I had only recently bonded him with my new babies who are nearly 4 months old. Today has been upsetting to say the least. I came home from work on a short break not long ago, and discovered Jason lying in the bottom of the cage. He'd died sometime within the three hours I'd been gone, and he seemed healthy and happy before that. After some examination of the cage, I noticed his tail and bedding were bloody and he probably had some sort of infection or parasite and he just didn't show that he was sick. Hey all, Two weeks ago we said goodbye to our first girl of our mischief. We have said goodbye to rats in the past, but she was now with us the longest. She was almost to the day 2 years and 5 months old and passed most likely from PT which first looked like hind leg degeneration. She was the best girl ever, extremely smart, willing to play, not much of a cuddler but the strongest girl I have known.
