Gilbert Architects is saddened by the recent loss of our colleague, Lenny Douk. Lenny most recently worked as a construction contract administrator, where he excelled due to his meticulous record keeping at the office and attention to detail during construction site visits. Earlier in his career with Gilbert, he held roles as a project manager and specifications writer. On Monday, September 19, 2022 Prince George’s County Public Schools held an Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Cherokee Lane Elementary School on Buck Lodge Road in Adelphi, MD. The New Cherokee Lane Elementary School is Being Set!

Cherokee Lane Elementary School, constructed off-site to facilitate a compressed construction schedule, has been transported to its permanent location in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Over the next three to four weeks, the units will be reconnected into one complete building. Exterior masonry and siding will be added onsite for a permanent finish. While the site was being prepared, 67% of the building was constructed off-site, complete with casework, flooring, paint, mechanical systems and fixtures.
