This national program will leave a lasting legacy for future generations so that second-generation Sikhs will understand the close relationship that exists. We aim to create a digital platform for Sikh exhibits. We give lectures on shared Sikh and British history.

There was another great turnout to an event to support the successful Contemporary Sikh Art Exhibition in Leicester. The event was to learn more bout the motivations and background to the artists work at the exhibition. The artist involved included: Rajpal Singh (Intrinsic_Arts), Amandeep Kaur, Guneit Kaur (Quratrait), Dawinder Kaur-(Khaas Art), Stephen Barrett and Satnam Birdi and input from Jyoti Kaur.

A great Vaisakhi event at Leicester Museums today with great weather and a great turnout.
Falcons Primary School started the day off with a Vaisakhi performance which drew great applause from visitors. This was followed by animations on Maharajah Ranjit Singh and the Kohinoor diamond being shown by Harinder Singh.

Countdown to the Contemporary Sikh Art Exhibition

Great to engage with the public with regards to the initiatives that the Sikhmuseum run. It was a busy day with visitors wanting to learn more about our Anglo Sikh Virtual Museum.
We shared our ideas with local artists: Navdeep Panesar and Stephen Barrett with regards to the Contemporary Sikh Art Exhibition which starts on 21st March 2024. Several pieces of art were been brought in for showcasing at the exhibition.

This year the Sikh Museums Initiative teamed up with the Leicester City, County & Rutland: At Risk and War Memorials Project.
This gave visitors a chance to learn more about the At Risk and War Memorials Project.
We also be displayed some rare artefacts from various Sikh campaigns: this included
A maquette of the Sikh Statue at Leicester’s Victoria Park
Artifacts and pictures from Sikh campaigns during the World Wars.
Our 3D digital touchscreen was n display during the duration of the Heritage Open Days events at All Saint’s Church

Akali Baba Buddha Dal Shastars

I was interviewed by BBC Radio Leicester in relation to the shastars brought to Leicester by Balbir Singh Nihang Buddha Dal.
It was great to see some of historic Shastars related to the Gurus and Shaheeds (Martyrs). A rare opportunity by Balbir Singh Nihang to bring these shastars in his UK tour. Twice i visited Akali Phula Singh Burj in Amritsar but i was unable to see them but today the Shastars came to me.

Interactive display of rare Sikh objects opens at Royal Armouries Museum
The digital project painstakingly recreated three objects from the museum’s South Asian Sikh collection, enabling visitors to interact with digital versions of rare historical pieces of armour for the first time in its 700-year history.
Following on from the display of Sikh Relics at the Anglo Sikh Wars Exhibition (2017), the Anglo Sikh Virtual Museum (2020-2022) now comes the permanent 3D Sikh interactive.

Great day at the first Sikhlens festival in the UK.
Thanks to Bicky Singh, Harinder Singh, Sangat Television (Official) Nishkam Centre for arranging a great day.
The Sikhmuseum team: Gurinder Singh Mann, Kartar Singh, Raj Mann was in full effect engaging with participants.
