If you are getting a cat, you are right to wonder whether you are allergic to the animal or not. After all, you will be in a horrible situation if you don’t find out you are allergic until you have already brought your feline companion home. Siamese cats are not particularly large cats. All About Cats says they have a height of 8 to 10 inches and a length of 11 to 14 inches. That translates to a weight of 8 to 15 pounds. Other sites offer similar numbers with minor variations. For instance, The Spruce Pets says Siamese cats reach a weight of 8 to 14 pounds.
Of course, Siamese cats can have a weight that is either higher or lower than this range. In 2003, the BBC reported on a Siamese cat named Katy, who weighed an astonishing 50 pounds. Supposedly, the cat started increasing in weight when she started taking hormones to suppress ..read more

While many believe that the Siamese cat has roots in Egypt, there is no evidence for this. Those that believe this often site the appearance of the modern-day Siamese cat and how it resembles the cats depicted in Egyptian art. However, they’re missing the fact that the appearance of the modern day Siamese has been modified through breeding. In other words, true ancestors of the present-day Siamese had rounder heads than those shown in ancient Egyptian art, as well as a different body structure. The current triangular shaped head of the modern Siamese, along with it’s lithe body is only due to ..read more
