guaduabamboocostarica.com. may help. I also own some d.strictus plants in Puerto Rico. We have not tested them in sea water that is about 2,000 feet away. While it is fast growing and very strong, I am not sure that its outer cover is salt resistant or not, but it is worth a try.

I am trying to build a bamboo structure to place in seawater in Mexico. I have seen one report on the biodegradation of bamboo, but only three Indian species were used Bambusa bambos, B. tulda
and Dendrocalamus strictus with D.strictus being the most durable.
I will be sourcing my bamboo in Mexico does anyone know which american bamboo varieties are most resistant to biodegradation.

Hello Renzo, where are you from? I'm natalie from Bamboo Creative Bali. The link above is to an outdated course page but I'll update it to take you to the right info. Both us and BambooU offer scholarships if you can not afford the training. I would ask BambooU about it - their courses are more technical and our are more hands on and practice-based. I'm interested to know what country you are from as we are wanting to find people who can help to set up bamboo training programs in African countries. I have so many people asking me from there to come and do training but i dont have the resources ..read more

Do you have a source or references to look at? I'm interested in these methods but heard bamboo doesnt do well inside cement over the longer term. I'd be interested to follow and would like to experiment with these methods - the thing is that the natural movement of a bamboo building means cement is liable to crack and have seen this where i know of the example. Have heard adding basalt fibre can add flexibility to the cement so less likely to crack. Kawayan Bamboo are doing some interesting walling systems with smashed bamboo and plastering with cement after nailing mesh on the inside. Would ..read more

Hi Renzo,
bamboo is amazing... definitely worth investing time to learn more about this incredible plant and its seemingly endless potential! ?
From personal experience I can recommend the Bamboo U Online Immersion Course, which is really comprehensive and great opportunity to get in touch with bamboo experts and enthusiasts from all over the world. Even though the on-site courses must be an incredible experience (from what I have heard, read and seen so far), the online courses are much more affordable!
I wish you good luck and fortune on your bamboo journey! ?
