Tap into 1 1/2" irrigation line

warning . . . DIY question . . . I need to tap into a 1.5" water line under my lawn in order to install a spigot to access water at that point and put in a stub for possible further access vs a valve for irrigation control. The pipe is part of an old irrigation system and is pressurized with 60 psi water by connection to the main in some unknown location. It is firmly fixed in the ground and I suspect that it is schedule 20 pipe because the other, smaller pipes used in the system are... Tap into 1 1/2" irrigation line ..read more

Buckner 1330 nozzles

I recently got my hands on a NOS Buckner 1330 cam drive rotor. I remember how to adjust the speed and all the other fun stuff (my memory hasn't completely faded) but what I can't remember is whether the nozzles can be swapped out. The eyeball test says I can use nozzles from a 1/2" impact sprinkler but I'm not 100% sure. The spreader I'll keep but it's the range nozzle I'd like to see if I can do something with. The current one looks like its a 7/32 which means this thing could easily be... Buckner 1330 nozzles ..read more

Same property as the lake pump post. extending an existing drip zone through the new trenches for rotors: line going under pavers goes to line laid before pavers were put down. accidentally cut trench 3 feet over from where I was sure the 1-1/2" line was. So had to retrench into the old and extend it to the edge. rotor zone at edge of pavers... More work photos ..read more

We have been working on a big site on and off for the past couple weeks. It’s a really simple landscape so the layout has been easy. It is a 4.5 acre site. We upgraded the well pump to a 60 gpm 3hp. We are building 25 gpm zones with the intention of running two at a time to keep the watering window tight. ... Install pics ..read more

RB5004 clogged with debris, how to remove filter and restore normal action?

Maybe i'm missing something obvious, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to remove the filter screen on RB5004's. Was pulling from a lake, with a basically 10 mesh filter. Apparently, a lot of debris was kicked up in the lake that day, and had some RB5004's just drop to basically extreme low flow. Cleaned up the (nonremovable?) bottom filter on two of them by poking and prodding with a 14 gauge copper wire, to get that debris cleared out. However after reinstallation, both of them... I'm thinking 80's vintage. 6 screws holding bonnet to body. Solenoid sits on a post captured by steel U piece with bright yellow vinyl cap on top. The oval swing clip used for the manual bleed is broken...in the open position. Any chance of finding replacement parts. Thanks for any help ..read more

Went out to a property with a submersible well pump with a pressure switch. I did not pull the pump to see if the pressure switch was attached to the well itself but there was no bladder tank on the property. The pressure line was taped to the electrical wires going down as far as i could see into the well. Has anyone seen this set up before? I tried to google info but couldn't find a single well with a built in bladder tank/ pressure switch built in. I was only interested because he had a...
