Hi all. Hope you can help. I have a Lawn Genie LC4 controller. All 4 zones have been coming on and off as programmed. But yesterday 5-1-24, I noticed that zone 2 and zone 4 came on at the same time. Zone 2 is programmed to come on at 7:30pm and zone 4 is programmed to come on at 8:15pm. Then after Zone 2 shut off...zone 4 shut off. After that Zone 3 came on at the programmed time but then shut off in about 3 minutes and zone 2 came back on as well as zone4. All zones come on and off... Read more ..read more

Hello. I'm at a bit of a loss and it's starting to drive me crazy! lol I have an 8yr old 1HP well pump and Rachio 3 controller which I installed last year, replacing Hunter controller. All sprinklers are Hunter. I replaced the pump pressure switch towards the end of last season and all 8 zones functioned properly. Old pressure switch did not have the metal bar handle, new one does. Winterized the system last fall and brought everything back online about a month ago and all 8 zones tested... Read more ..read more

Redoing irrigation - Backflow Questions

Hello all, I'm redoing my irrigation. It has 3/4" copper supply under the house that I'm planning to tie it to 1" as far as I can to the beginning of the water supply. Once the 1" copper goes outside, I will tie it to schedule 80 (thinking of doing the copper all the way to backflow but again, schedule 80 might fare better under the dirt, dont need to worry about corrosion) all the way to the backflow. The current backflow is 3/4 inch and it is still good, I figure I will re-use it since... Read more ..read more

Figured I would post this in this area as it has more to do with outdoor pipes. Any of you guys or gals specifically knowledgable about schedule 35 pvc septic pipe depth strength? I just had a propane truck run over my sdr35 line that goes from the septic tank itself to the area where the leach field is. The 4” pipe is buried at about 18”. The ground is pretty well compacted in that area, but obviously it’s not somewhere we have traffic going over. This guy just didn’t see the rocks I... Read more ..read more

I’m currently working with Rain Bird to design a new lawn irrigation system. The design parameters include a flow rate of 22 GPM at 60 PSI. Their recommendations includes an 1 ¼” Schedule 40 PVC main line with 1 ¼” poly laterals. Living in WI, I'm concerned about potential problems with PCV joints due to soil movement and cold weather. For that reason, I/ve been thinking about using SIDR 11.5 160 PSI or SIDR 19 100 PSI for the main line instead. Seems most contractors around here use poly... Read more ..read more
