Mylon Lefevre and Broken Heart in concert, sometime in the 1980s.
On September 9, 2023 we learned that Mylon Lefevre, one of Christian Music’s greatest of greats, passed into eternity. Mylon has joined Carman, Michael Bloodgood and Andre Crouch to name a few, who have also recently entered into their eternal reward.
Throughout the day yesterday, my social media feed was inundated with posts honoring Mylon Lefevre. I shared one from a friend of mine who went forward at a Mylon & Broken Heart concert in 1988, and shared, among many other things, how Mylon ..read more

On july 10, 2023, the album 'Rex Carroll y Romina Barba: Las canciones de Whitecross en español' was released on digital music platforms under the label Santuario Producciones.
An album that fills us with nostalgia, remembering the songs that Rex Carroll, Scott Wenzel and company released in the 80s and 90s.
Undoubtedly the impact of the band Whitecross in Latin America was very strong and with the wave of Hard Rock and Christian Glam Metal many lives were restored, healed and brought back to the encounter with their only and su ..read more

It was a time when such artists were taken for granted. We expected bold, honest Christian artists who challenged the believer to live a life more dedicated to the Lord every day. We needed that push–sometimes that shove–and Steve Camp was one of those few artists that truly did so.
His lyrics were not only challenging, but brutally honest. And this 1991 release, possibly the best of his career, is no exception.
Consider the Cost starts with the rocking, “The Cross is a Radical Thing,” highlighting how meeting Jesus at the cross is a commitment to leave the past behind, and sta ..read more

Charlie Peacock: West Coast Diaries Vol. 1-3
It’s been a while since I’ve given you something new. My posts have been rather sporadic lately, so in an effort to make up for lost time, I thought I’d give you not one, but a three-in-one today–Charlie Peacock’s three-volume set, West Coast Diaries.
When Charlie made his triumphant return to music in 1990, thanks to the brilliant Secret of Time, he gathered together a collection of recordings he had made between 1986 and 1988 that never saw the light of day. Needless to say, with many such records, one can sometimes see why the ..read more

My review of Rez’s 20 Years Live got me into a little bit of trouble. See, I called Rez a heavy metal band. And hooo-boy did I hear it from the metalheads. Rez is apparently not a metal band. But when you’re introduced to Rez in the late 80s after their brief hiatus, you’re gonna understand where I’m coming from. And no such album exemplifies their lean towards metal as their 1989 release Innocent Blood.
In fact, if I had a T-shirt of this album back in the day, it would have fit right in with the rest of my schoolmates’ Guns N’ Roses/ Black Sabbath/ Metallic ..read more

Over & Over, On & On
There are times when an album is a little harder to describe than others. And this is one of those times. Not that it has anything particularly odd about it. It’s just one of those albums that you have to experience for yourself.
The band, Crumbacher, had a handful of Calif ..read more

There are many albums out there that have not gotten quite the credit they deserve, and Greg X. Volz’ third offering, No Room in the Middle, seems to fit that category.
At the time it was released, it had gotten some recognition, a decent place on the charts and some songs that got good airplay; but when it comes to “what’s your favorite Greg Volz album?” rarely is th ..read more
