After being asked many times how it is possible to differentiate Fish Crows and American Crows, I decided to make a distribution map for these very similar species. Though it is very difficult to visually distinguish them, it can be possible in some places to determine which species you have just based on the location.
I’m in a GIS class at my university so using what we’ve learned about ArcGIS and dating importing I used research grade observations on iNaturalist to create this map!

Hello fellow bird enthusiasts,
I'm a birdwatcher from Poland and I'm planning a trip to Florida.
Can anyone recommend a good book about birdwatching in Florida? It's not my first birdwatching expierience in the USA and I've used Sibley guidebook so far.
Apart from Sibley I'm interested in a book that covers only birds of Florida. Are there any good position?
Secondly I would like to ask about Peterson guidebook. Is it worth to have both - Sibley and Peterson?
I appreciate any recommendations...

Greetings,
A few years ago I had the pleasure to visit Key Biscayne and I saw four Sandhill Cranes in Crandon Park. They were remarkable and distinctive birds and a welcome lifer for me.
But when eBird recently updated their methodology they removed the crane from my world life list as an "escapee." I thought they could be found across the state, so I was surprised to see this "lifer" relegated to escapee status.
Have others experienced something similar? Did I perhaps make a mistake in...

I don't usually do these, but I felt like a trip report of a family Disney trip I managed to squeeze some birding into might be of use to other birders who may find themselves in a similar situation someday. Here I'll discuss both the birding I did outside the park in central Florida as well as the birding situation within Disney itself. This trip took place in late May and early June 2022.
(Lifer birds in bold)
Day One:
Flew into Sandford Airport. I was able to get my first lifer before...

Hello to all lovers and connoisseurs of Florida birds! Not so long ago we moved to Tallahassee and now a few months later we are planning a mini vacation that we would like to spend alone with the local flora and fauna. I would be very grateful if you would recommend interesting, picturesque places, of course, with a concentration of different species of birds, which I can find 2-3 hours away from Tallahassee. I look forward to receiving recommendations! Have a nice day ..read more

These two birds seemed to stick together so I think they're mates. The bird in the last two pictures is missing feathers on their neck and their wing was drooping slightly but they were able to fly ..read more

I have never attended this festival. I now live in Florida and I am thinking about taking the 90 minute drive from where we live in Jacksonville to vist the Exhibit Center next week. The dates are Jan 22(wed) to the 25th(Sat) I was wondering if there are any members here who have gone to the past Festivals in Titusville, what I might expect to see from the the vendor booths and exhibits ..read more

Grateful for an ID on this bird seen in Florida January 2018 - I think in the Kissimmee area. I'm struggling with either an Eastern Wood Pewee or Great Crested Flycatcher (or could be ANYTHING!). Thanks in advance ..read more
