An Aero L-29 Delfin jet crashed and burst into flames killing a pilot during the Reno Air Racing event in Nevada, the United States.  The fatal accident happened on late September 18, 2022. The pilot of the Aero L-29 Delfin was flying the third lap of the Jet Gold Race, which was supposed to be the final six-lap race of the event.   The horrific single-engine plane crash was captured in the live stream on YouTube. Australia to host Air Race World Championship events

For the first time in 12 years, Australia will host Air Race World Championship events in November 2022.  After a two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Air Race World Championship will return in 2022. The championship was initiated by Red Bull in 2003 but will come back with a new sponsor.   In these competitions, pilots fly their race planes through 25-meter-high air-filled pylons, at speeds of up to 370 kilometers per hour (230 miles per hour).   The first competition is due to happen between July 9 and 10, 2022, at Goodwood in West Sussex, England.  ..read more

Red Bull pilot stuns with daring tunnel flight

Red Bull has claimed another daring record. The company, known for sponsoring flying stunts, has posted a video of Italian pilot Dario Costa flying a plane through two tunnels.  The stunt, which took place near Istanbul, Turkey at dawn on September 4, saw Costa taking off from inside one tunnel, speeding through it, before entering into the daylight in a gap in the road and then zipping through a second tunnel.
