The most well recognized building in Dallas is no other than the Reunion Tower, or "The Ball" as many people call it. That's what makes the Reunion Tower one of the best places to propose at and get engaged in Dallas. The Reunion Tower is over 50 stories and the 15th tallest building in Dallas. It has 360 degree views, so on a clear day you can see Fort Worth over 30 miles away. The Reunion Tower elevator from the lobby takes just over 1 minute to arrive at the observation deck. Back in the day, the original restaurant rotated a full circle every hour, so you could have dinner and enjoy the e ..read more

"That's a big camera, I bet it takes amazing pictures."

One of the top 10 comments or questions I get at as a wedding photographer. And almost always exclusively comes from men. The basis of the comment runs on a spectrum of challenging sarcasm to pure sincerity that is usually correlated with the age of the asker..... and sometimes the camera in their own hand. I can usually pin point in advance where the comment will come from. I see them. I am looking out at the crowd and there are always one or two staring at me (or my cameras on the harness). They try to keep their interest casual, in a way that I know they are trying to look as if its a mere ..read more

Weeks ago, I received a message on my website from NY asking about photographing a proposal at Highland Park Village. I'm always 1000% excited about any opportunity to do a live proposal. Especially when I found out that this engagement moment was going to be a complete surprise. She didn't even know an engagement ring had been purchased. Surprise engagements are so rare, so I was even more excited. Scott wanted to propose in the same location as their first date, Fachini Ristorante, in Highland Park Village. He asked if I could suggest a great engagement location, so I offered to go to there ..read more

Headshots: Meet Your New Leadership

Headshots are your corporate and professional "first impression". A great business headshot can be used all over your social media from LinkedIn and Facebook to your email signature . As crazy as it is, you could be the top expert in your field, but without a great bio picture, some of your hard earned credibility can be lost. On the other side, you can be completely new in your field and a great headshot can add to your professional character. Last month, the National Cabinet of Kappa Delta Chi came to Dallas for their annual leadership meeting and asked me to update their headshots. Headsho ..read more

It's not a surprise to me that Scotland was voted the most beautiful country in the world. Since our 1st trip, we have visited this magical place 6 times in the last 3 years. The crazy part is that isn't all of our trips! How I even discovered Scotland is all thanks to the Zika virus. All along my main traveling goal was to visit all 6 inhabited continents. I decided from a young age that I would make it a priority to travel overseas every year. From 2007-2011, I completed 5 continents off the list with only South America remaining. From 2012- 2015, we visited Barbados, Israel, France, Mexico ..read more

I don't know why it's so hard for me to do wedding blog posts. Actually, I do. A typical wedding for me usually ends up with around 100-150 final images per hour. So an 8 hour wedding day could end up with 1,200 or more photos. Let's not even talk about if I am working with a 2nd shooter! All that to say, sorting through the photos to decide what to post can be OVERWHELMING! I mean, I love hundreds of them and I know YOU probably can only spend 2-3 minutes of your precious time to scroll through a post! I am sure that is exactly how my couples feel when they are trying to decide which photos ..read more

White Rock Lake Airbnb Elopement Wedding

I started to write this blog 10 different ways.... there's so much to be said about a simple backyard elopement wedding. This particular wedding had so many unique elements like: The wedding was the day after Thanksgiving. There were only 16 wedding guests and all of them were family members from out of state. The wedding was at a mid-century modern Airbnb built in 1950 that had been remodeled like it was ready to be featured in a magazine. The property was over a full acre near White Rock lake with a creek and pond in the backyard. Rare! Both the bride and groom were as photogenic as models ..read more

It never gets old! Tiffany Hopwood Photography won The Knot Best of Weddings Photographer award for the 6th year in a row and also WeddingWire's Couple's Choice Award for the 4th year! Since quitting my full time job in 2018, we have been doing 35-40 weddings per year. 2020 was right on track for that same number when COVID hit. Suddenly over half of my scheduled weddings were rescheduled or cancelled, all of my international weddings were moved and most of the weddings I did do were significantly scaled back. 2020 did introduce a new form for weddings: The Micro Wedding! What is a Micro Wed ..read more
