Typically when I do a travel blog I set it up with a pre-trip blog the week or two prior to set the scene for what’s to come, this is no exception. I often have a rather hard time speaking my mind or sawing when things hurt my feelings/irk me in a certain way. I’m sure anyone who has been on the receiving end of a conversation with me that starts with “…sooooo…” would probably disagree with that, especially my parents, with whom I have an extra hard time being forthright with, even into my 30s. As hard as it is, & as discouraging as it can be, sometimes you have to come face to face with the realization that you’ve been watering dead plants. While, yes, I could mean this literally, if you haven’t heard the expression before I’d be more than happy to fill you in. Prior to around 24 hours ago, I hadn’t had a haircut since October. While three months isn’t the longest stretch of time to go without a trimming of the hairs, my hair tends to grow in rather quickly & rather full so I was rocking a mess AF mop. I am someone who is often outwardly opposed to the cold. I have stated many times in person & probably on this blog as well that I would be fine going the remainder of my life without seeing another “winter.” Sometimes that sentiment also takes the shape of “going the rest of my life without seeing snow” but it feels like a similar concept either way.
