Hundreds of thousands of wreaths are making their way from Maine to Virginia as part of the Wreaths Across America program.
The caravan stopped at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial in Holmdel on Wednesday. The convoy consisted of 14 tractor-trailers, along with military veterans and police officers. This year’s stop featured guests from all over the Garden State – including groups from Point Pleasant, the Wall High School ROTC and 23 Gold Star families.

A fallen Vietnam War veteran from New Jersey, James E. Gosselin, has been added to the state’s memorial after a clerical error was discovered. According to NJ.com, records for Gosselin from Pleasantville, New Jersey had his hometown previously listed as Pleasantville, Pennsylvania. A ceremony held yesterday officially marked the correction and celebrated his addition to the memorial. Gosselin was a Navy Corpsman and combat medic for the Marines who died in 1968 during the Battle of Hue. He is listed on the February 2 panel to signify when he died.

Henry Carmine Rossi, 74, of Howell, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, 11 January 2023, at home after a long battle with liver cancer and injuries sustained during the Vietnam War.
Henry was born December 4, 1948 to Carmine and Madeline Rossi of Jersey City. Shortly thereafter, the family settled in Bayonne where Henry spent his formative years. His love for baseball and the New York Yankees blossomed during his youth while playing for Little League and PAL teams.

On December 1st, 2022, the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation was delighted to host teachers from New Jersey and New York and teachers from across the country as part of the National Council for Social Studies Conference this year.

The National Council for Social Studies hosted its first conference since the pandemic in Philadelphia. Before the conference, off-site clinics are offered by partnering organizations. The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation is celebrating the Holiday Season with a new display in our main lobby. We have partnered with the Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, and Middletown Daughters of the Revolution in two themed trees. The Middletown DAR had the theme of patriotism. The names on that tree are all Revolutionary War Patriots. They represent all the ancestors of our chapter members and many local men from Middletown, Holmdel, Marlboro, and Matawan, including Alexander Clark, who was killed in action in the Battle of Navesink.
